  1. Clansman is clearly the best choice. It fits to the time period/theme and isn't going to offend anyone.

    Soldier doesn't fit the period/theme but still won't offend anyone.

    Peasant fits the period/theme but may offend some people.

    How about scrap the whole idea of clan titles and lets have colored names according to position. What a colorful chat it would be :D

    "Hey, my color cost me a lot of gold."
    "Hey, green can you open the door?"
    "Thank you blue."
    "Welcome brown."
