Conservatives VS Liberals

Discussion in 'Questions/Feedback' started by Azzaro, Jan 23, 2016.

  1. So the revolving issue with this that Conservatives lead by likes of Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. While Liberals being lead by Hilary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.

The issue is all the candidates absolutely are terrible choices. Conservatives want to make us bankrupt through war, and Liberals want to make everyone equally poor.

So the question burns, who's the moderate in this presidential race? Trump and Clinton in my eyes are both going to be final selections for their parties, yet none of them are liable choices for our great country.

Trump wants everyone who comes into America too accept American views, understandable but that makes us lose what it stands to be American. Being a group of different individuals from different nations, who work hard together to be the best we can for our children.

Clinton, can we trust her? Besides the fact her political views change as public opinion does, what can she do for us? Bring equal wages? If women truly made less than men, men would have no jobs because women would work for less. Furthermore, women aren't qualified for some jobs Clinton won't say that because NOW is her greatest supporter. We need too push women to get the higher educations so they can occupy more jobs. Now I'll say views say nothing because they switch every time she runs for something politically.

  2. Trump is my lover

  3. Trump will never be the president.. 

  4. So your question is: Can we trust Clinton?

Is that really a fair question?

I personally think that Bernie Sanders is the best candidate. On his youtube channel, he has some pretty long presentations he made in Congress about why he is a democratic socialist.

I also think that this election will be similar to Obama in 2008. Sanders will win Iowa and New Hampshire, as he's leading there right now, then after that he will start gaining more traction elsewhere. Most of Clinton's supporters are people who only support her because they think she has a better shot at the general election.

Neither Clinton or Trump will break the banks up to avoid another crash. Both have lied in their attacks against others. Neither have economic inequality as a major issue. Both use wedge issues such as guns and immigration as their main platform.

In the eyes of other countries, Clinton is a right-winger. She opposes universal health care - something that practically all Conservative parties in other countries support (even Canada).

Then there is Trump, who believes that global warming is a theory cooked up by the Chinese, who believes that Obama was born in Kenya despite Obama publicly showing his birth certificate multiple times, and who believes that there should be a religious test for people in order to enter the country.

As a side note: Countties like France used democratic socialism from 1945-1975 with 4% yearly real growth rates (called the Trente Glorieuse I think). It's one of the reasons why socialism is so popular in Europe.

Other side note: They had high growth rates because the economy was starting from a low place - they were catching up. One of the reasons why China is growing so fast under a Communist/free market economy.

  5. I'd vote for whoever doesn't believe in being the world's police force, wants to create personal retirement accounts rather than the social security pool, as well as work on infrastructure and actually doing something about the 18 trillion dollars of debt.

They'd get my vote in a heart beat

  6. War doesn't make you bankrupt, yes te expenses are high however the economy will boost greatly, it'll increase jobs and pay, which brings us more revenue. Take a economics class.

  7. yup just like the wars in iraq and afghanistan have done like so much good for the us economy and national debt (giggle)

  8. Wow, cause that's exactly what happened to Bush in 2008. 

Get with the times. It ain't 1940 anymore. The effect war has in creating manufacturing jobs had been drastically reduced. Companies like Boeing produce products far more cost-effectively but still charge the government the same outrageous prices. Just look at this F-35 fiasco.

And yes I did "take an economics course".

  9. For once I agree one hundred percent. War isn't as lucrative of a business as it used to be.

  10. The price of an F-35 ballooned from 82 million a plane to 208 million a plane. And did Lockheed-Martin produce an extra 120 million of jobs per plane because of it? No way in hell.

  11. We all wouldn't be equally poor
68 people now own half the world's wealth... is that even legal, people starve while others literally burn their money

On a side note I look at the economy this way

A billionaire is only going to eat around 100$ per meal on a good day

But a million people with 1000$(thats a billion dollars) will each spend between 10-30$ so do the math....

Option 1: 100$ put into the economy
Option 2: 10-30 million put into the economy

Which one is better for the economy?

  12. So your solution is take money away from the people who earned it because you decided they aren't spending it properly?

This is a Democracy. Not a Tyranny.

  13. Besides government is an unnecessary evil.

  14. It isn't a democracy you imbecile, our founding fathers never implemented a full on democracy

  15. It is a democracy sithi... A representative democracy...

  16. Fact: War should be avoided at all costs but at the same time you should not be a push over, and retaliation should not be taken off of the table.

Fact: a $15 minimum wage is bad, and government spending is far too high as is, spending needs to be reduced, not increased.

Fact: America is a country of immigrants we don't need to punish people for coming in we need to simplify the process, however if you do not follow the laws or pay taxes, or live off the state, you should not be allowed in, if you want to come to be productive you should be able to. On top of that deporting all current illegals is impractical however flat out granting citizenship is not fair either.

Fact: Instead of taking in refugees we as individuals should support others who are involved, possibly even give government money to other countries helping refugees.

Fact: Taxes need to simplified and fair for all, personally I think 10% for all people and 15% on business is fair however this comes with no exemptions, write offs or loop holes.

Fact: Believe in climate change or not litter is gross and it's no coincidence that places like China have smog over their cities, it should be something that businesses should strive for, not be punished.

I'm willing to address any other issues anyone wants to discuss.

  17. So what we're just going to neglect the charity work most of these billionaires do? Let's just redistribute all of their wealth so that everyone is equal, they'll definitely want to keep working harder to make more!

  18. So basically, the liberals want the United States to be communist?

    Yaaaaaaahhhh. How about no.
