Lmao I thought that thread would be locked in a minute. I would have locked it as mod. You guys are being silly and this thread is stupid. Stop blowing things out of proportion.
The thread was spam no matter what anyone says. As has been said this community isn't a democracy. We have our opinion heard but at the end of the day a few decide.
I agree. I think that mods should be a little more careful when locking threads. Too much locking makes things less fun
Locking for any reason other than breach of ToU or RoC is a waste of time and only creates more resentment towards MODs. If the community isnt enjoying a thread, it will die on its own. Just like it will live on its own, at the top of A.T, if we do like it. Threads dont need extra help to live or die. MODs shouldn't have to be viewed as police or grim reapers, but they bring it on themselves by mettling to much.
Are you saying.. People that volunteer to control other people are misusing they're power?
OK, I read through all 10 pages of comments, and so far, it has been a few moderators pandering to the whims of a select few individuals who are unhappy about a lock decision. You've all been going around in circles about subjective enforcement of the ToU and "who are mods to subjectively lock threads." First of all, mods are selected by ATA to be representatives and enforcers of their company, and to use their judgement to make decisions about how to enforce the rules here, so I hope that settles the "who are you" question. Secondly, here's the answer: "spammy threads are disruptive to this forum." Unlike many other forums I participate in, this one is composed of mostly children under 18 years old. They lack the collective discipline to ignore trolls and let disruptive threads fall off AT. This whole "spammy" rule actually started, despite what Delphin said, because people would post crappy threads and the thread would sit in AT sometimes for weeks with people bashing the OP for making such an awful thread. Why should we, the kawmmunity, have to put up with seeing these eyesores sitting in AT for so long when they used to crowd out the good threads? Somehow, support and the mod team have turned a blind eye toward some really spammy threads and obvious post count farms. How long has that "one word story" thread been around, or the "ban the player above you"? It pains me to see these useless threads bumped and flooding AT with useless garbage. So, when I see a mod locking a thread that asks people to simply post #terraformod, it brought me joy to see a mod bold enough to step up and shut down such a spammy thread in order to make room for more meaningful discussion. I like anarchy and terra, but I'm going to have to disagree with anarchy on this one, and I hope you'll understand why. Edit: I see terra also thinks the #terraformod thread was a bad idea deserving of a lock.
Lol@ your wall.. "thank you for being an upstanding member of the kaw community" -Chaos Awww..I wanna be an "upstanding member" Nvm. No I dont. Happy New Year
^It's alright to call him a brown noser, don't dance around it if that's what you think. But he is generally correct.
Should you have an issue with the actions of a moderator or support members please email us at support@athinkingape.com However, in this case i do agree with locking as this exact thread has popped up numerous times. For those legitimately interested in becoming a moderator, information is available here.
