HTE Conspiracy

  1. Think of this thread as a conspiracy theory, so prep your tin-foil hats, Grain of salt and your own intelligence please.

The theory being what if the devs are using random accounts to drop seals and keep hte clans running.

Now let's think this over, with the amount of hte clans currently active is there truly an abundance of sotd's? Even with all these event rewards, only pay players achieve the top tier which gives ~5-10 Seals of the Damned.

Okay, now these pay players would stay in their own respective clans as that's status quo with maybe 20% of the top tier reward receivers branching out into hte clans.

Meaning Hte clans would get (rough estimate) 16-100 seals. Which is great but there are a lot of hte clans and the fact that those branching out (don't stay in a guild for long) those seals wouldn't keep ONE hte clan running therefore they'd take their seals elsewhere.
    *Note*
    This is entirely assumption

    THE MATH
5 seals for top 100 (this event)
    8 for top 10
    20% of 100 is 20
20x5=100 seals spread among hte clans

    20% of 10 is 2
2x8=16 seals returned to hte focused guilds.

2 people from Top Tier would more than likely take their seals elsewhere instead of their lb clan
    (jerks  )

20 from the second highest tier (which I highly doubt) would take their seals and spread them around the KaWmunity.

So what about seals dropped from ebs?
Sotd eb drops are ultra rare occurances. However there could be changes when the devs deem necessary to flood the market with GOLD.
Of course I haven't personally witnessed an influx and have barely received sotd from eb rewards so I'm uncertain on this possibility.

With statistics and numbers I could make a more logical argument.
    MOVING ON

Our last way of attaining sotd's is by straight cash.

That 59 nobility point price tag is looking a little hefty BUT Arkosa frowns upon misers and the devs need to maintain their new yacht.

Here are the free options though:

    Epic Battles (as stated before)
    Extremely rare

Questing trying to get 20 nobs for a propack or a name change is hard enough but I'm sure there is atleast ONE resilient and cheap soul capable enough of attaining the 59 nobs necessary to purchase a Seal of the Damned

I'm not sure I'm allowed to talk about real life prices but I'm going to anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste.

To obtain 1 Seal of the Damned you need 59 Nobility Points.
To obtain 59 Nobs from 0 would require you purchase a 50 nobility pack which costs $4.99 (prices depend on region) and a $.99 10 nobility pack.
    Basically $6.00 for 1 Seal.
I don't know where I'm going with this so I'm just going to cut this short as this is basic math lol.

With all of these complications and variables wouldn't it be easier for the devs to helm the operation and in hopes encourage others to purchase seals/other items in the process?

While unknowing/uncaring hte clans are completely unaware.

This is entirely speculation, food for thought.

    TL;DR
Primates are smarter than you think.

  2. I don't know about them dropping seals. Plenty of people buy seals, constantly. But with an hte clan, you buy them less constantly but still get the reward of hte's. Hte is a big chunk of the income that ATA receives. It was a very smart but dumb move on their part. They dud create an endless money pool for themselves. But it is only endless as far as the game lasts and supports it. Wouldn't they didn't know was It would become a great factor in the downfall of their game.

And I believe they have realized what they have done. And honestly they don't care. The inly time they show their faces anymore is in the light of new events, to get .. Guess what? More money. B.I.G said it best; Mo money Mo problems.

Now in that sense, it doesn't necessarily mean that every dollar you add generates more problems... No the way I interpret it is if you go CHASING money then it will destroy you. And thats what happened to Kaw. If only they would have realized that if they maintained a quality game then money would have came.

I didn't expect to write this much.

  3. This game cheats...stop playing before they cheat you

  4. There's plenty of psychological studies that support the phenomenon of peer pressure. Seeing others seal makes you feel obligated to also pitch in.

I know because I've fallen victim to the peer pressure of sealing.

However, I don't think that's possible. They'd need to have a staff of real people to run those accounts because seal dropping requires coordination. If it were possible to automate the process, then I'd buy it, but idk.

I get the gist of what you're saying and it actually makes a lot of sense.

  5. The devs are definitely smart. They knew peer pressure would make people buy seals who otherwise normally wouldn't.

  6. Peer pressure to buy a seal? Are you kidding me?

No one can force you to buy seals. You may feel guilty hitting someone's paid HTEs, but guess what:

They can't complete HTE on their own, unless they have 10 accts all using xstals.

  7. Peer pressure to maintain or keep up with the rest. Peer pressure to drop seals to receive the pass necessary to stay in the HTE clan. If an HTE clan has a long drought of seals, people will leave and either find another HTE clan or do other Eb's.

  8. Sure people buy seals regularly but how many hte clans are there in terms of seal buyers? Actually you need to by them constantly because most hte clans complete a hte in 2-4 hours.

I do agree that hte is a great money maker but there would be other items current/introduced eventually to keep players interested, I think or even removal of seal requirement if you want to get crazy.

Thanks for you lengthy post

    A little overboard, buddy.

Less peer press and more suggestion and addiction.
I mean hte pays great right?
Better than any other eb and lbers especially want to maintain their position.
What better than hook already paying players to hte?

Suggestion is basically peer pressure but toned down because I don't want the devs to destroy me :)

Yes there would be staff to run sealer accounts. However, this idea could have been implemeneted during the early days of hte when there were less buyers and clans weren't self-sufficient (seal-wise) who knows. Although if KaW first introduced hte while having no seal requirement. My paragraph is rendered irrelevant.

    This guy gets it.
