"lack of effort"... Pretty subjective in many cases. Not that im judging, but, sometimes the forumers do turn what would otherwise be considered a pointless/lack of effort op's into interesting conversations. Besides, its not like there are always a plethora of engaging topics that are getting lost in a couple effortless threads.
All I do to make threads is a simple banner and what I have to say no images no bright colours. Simples
I think that's the way the mods look at it I mean look at the "post questions here" 2 line thread lmao
One thing I have asked support to implement in the past was a requirement for new forum users to read and agree to a set of forum rules before being allowed to make a new thread. POSTING on a thread should always be allowed, but creating new threads can be more disruptive. I think it takes experience to understand what "effort" looks like. If there were a minimum time limit before one could create a new thread (say 90 days) that would give people enough time to see how things are done here. A minimum post count before being able to create a new thread could also be implemented to achieve the same goal. Some other forums have these types of requirements, and it works. You don't see random new accounts spamming AT.
I like this idea overall, the positives highly outweigh the negatives. I think the reason they dont is because when you press "app support" on the app description it takes you to forums. And if you want to post for app support and it says "you need to wait 90 days to post on forums" you'll be pretty peeved off if u wanted app support for something you were probably already peeved off at.
I apologize Moose, but this comment stood out to me because I think of all of the Moose pictures I've seen. For the record, I think "Lack of Effort" is a good reason. It's better than the ambiguous and slightly inflammatory label of "spam thread." I will admit though, it at least kept a certain nice Forum Shotgun well fed off of all of those greasy scraps it dismantled.
