    Terminator: Genisys

    Synopsis
In Terminator: Genisys John Connor (Clarke), the leader of the human resistance, sends Sergeant Kyle Reese (Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Clarke) and to secure the future. Due to an unexpected event Sergeant Reese suddenly finds himself into a new and unknown version of the past. Here he finds new allies, including The Guardian (Schwarzenegger). With his new mission: Resetting the future, he comes face to face with dangerous enemies who will make sure there's plenty of action to enjoy.

    The franchise
The Terminator franchise was launched in 1984. The first film was such a success that director James Cameron and starring actor Arnold Schwarzenegger were immediately big stars in Hollywood. The sequel, released in 1991 and also directed by James Cameron, was received even better and boasted good hope for the future.

After that, however, it took until 2003 before a new film was released, a third part with the illustrious subtitle Rise of the Machines. The film by Jonathan Mostow was fairly well received, but for various reasons there was no fourth sequel. Instead, with Terminator: Salvation another attempt was made to resurrect the franchise.

That film, which starred Christian Bale, was unfortunately not so very well received so they did not launch a trilogy as they had in mind. Now it is the turn of Terminator: Genisys to be launching a trilogy, which are planned to be further released in 2017 and 2018.

    First reactions
The first reactions of Terminator: Genisys are not overly positive. Film Critics agree that the film is not too good, at least compared to the first movies. The film is a shaky new version of what the mythology of the franchise should be, but the "thematic depth, conceptual intelligence and visual splendor" of the original films seem to miss, according to the critics.

    box office performance
Negative critics or not, it would appear that the movie is going to do just fine at the international box office. The opening weekend in the US accounted for $28.7 million, but due to premieres, the film already is at $44.1 million dollars. Maybe not the best opening in the history of the franchise, but good enough to continue with a trilogy. In other countries, the film brought in $85.5 million, bringing the total merit after one week at $129.6 million. Not too bad.

The expectation is that the film in the US will come out on about 107 to 120 million dollars. To actually get to that number will depend on how the movie will be received by the people. If people are very negative about the film, that opportunity will be shrinking considerably.

Worldwide, they anticipate revenue in between 400 and 500 million dollars.

    Trivia

There has been a green light for two sequels, because the rights to the franchise will go back to James Cameron in 2019.

The same James Cameron said this film is considered to be officially the third film in the franchise.

Jason Clarke is the fifth actor who plays John Connor.

Untill I did my research about this movie I had no idea what to expect of it. My first thought to be honest was, Arnold must be like 146 years old now so how is he going to look 'cool' again. But from what I've seen so far they have done a pretty good job! Lots of classic Arnold Schwarzenegger action and humor. I'm not afraid to say I'm a movie geek and I'm a fan of a huge amount of movies but the Terminator franchise is definitaly one of them.

I hope you enjoyed reading my review of 'Terminator: Genisys'. I used some of the information from a website in my country. I look forward to reading your opinions about this movie.

    Have a great day!

  3. Reserved!

  4. I really liked the movie. I thought it was great fun, Arnold still rocks. Overall lots of fun.

  5. A lot of effort into a thread for a movie don't you think? Unless of course u copied and pasted this off of a different website.

  6. Great to hear you've enjoyed the movie!

Thank you for the compliment on the effort part! The global country release is actually the only part that's directly from a website, and I still had to type it over and insert BB codes manually. As I stated in the OP I do this for your and my entertainment while playing KaW, and I'm a movie geek. ;)

    Thanks for your input!

  7. You seen that movie constipation?

Yeah me either it hasn't came out yet

  8. What people do with there time blows my mind

  9. I'm more impressed with the amount of information and coding this guy gathered and did...Lolz

  10. Nice thread! A lot of effort has been put into this! :)

  11. Thank you! Took me a while to complete it indeed, but it was on an evening relaxing on the couch. ;)

Thank you chocolate. Much apreciated! What do you think about the movie? =)

  12. All this effort for something that most of us don't care about, as of what I said, so much effort for something that I just skimmed through. Gj tho!

  13. Who the hell is 'He'?

  14. Enjoyed the movie! Not really sure why there were negative reviews on it.Oh well.

  15. I liked the movie. I didn't like who they cast for Sarah Connor. She should stick to being mother of dragons because I didn't like her as mother of the resistance.

  16. Do you know the phrase "I'll be back" said by Arnold Schwarzenegger in several movies? Well, He's back!

  17. I enjoyed it. Arnie is great!
