Reviewing PvP Plunder Algorithm

  1. I plan to create a focus group to review the PvP Plunder Algorithm once and for all.

    Everyone (besides the ones exploiting it) agrees that the current system is outdated and needs to be FIXED.

    This is the purpose of this focus group. What I am looking for are players that fit at least 2 of the following criteria:
    • Players with a good knowledge of the game/plunder mechanics
    • Players that understand MATHEMATICS
    • Players with fresh ideas

  5. OT: appreciate the effort op, but it isn't going to do contribute to anything. Seems like the kaw players are putting in more effort to save this game than the devs at the moment.
     
  6. Why do so many noobs think this game needs to be saved? Devs said they are doing fine. I personally am having a blast. Lighten up a bit.
     
  7. I sent an email to the devs before launching this...

    There is no guarantee, but if we get enough support, we may end up with a better system.
    The only sure thing is that if we don't do anything about it (stay silent or complain but propose nothing), they won't either. :roll:

  10. New Plunder Algorithm



    As suggested by many, but most recently by ST4T1ON_H1N3Y HERE, the Plunder Algorithm is outdated and needs to change.

    It was introduced at a time where the largest Attack build was somewhat close to... 9M CS. :roll:
    Since then, the gh build has been nerfed... so gh became Sh... resulting in the current stacking issue we all know in Round Wars.

    The issue is that the current algorithm takes into account 2 parameters:
    • The size of the defender's build (Raw CS) - and your build size in comparison
    • The defensive pots he's using


    Now, here is how it currently works with an example:

    Player 1 is a Sh with 2.9M CS
    Player 2 is a "small" Attack build with 16.4M CS

    With the Current Plunder Algorithm, based on CS only, Player1 is considered to be 5,5 times smaller than Player2.

    When Player1 successfully hits Player2, he gets a LARGE plunder (100M+) because, you know, he is 5,5 times smaller... :roll:
    Now when Player2 successfully hits Player1, he gets a TINY plunder (10M-20M) because, you know, he is 5,5 times bigger... :|

    That would be true if BFE/BFA wasn't considered at all... which is the case... in Primal Wars. ONLY.



    Now... the uggly truth:


    Player 1 BFE: 445m = 8.9M CS
    Player 1 BFA: 400m = 8M CS

    Player 2 BFE: 350m = 7M CS
    Player 2 BFA: 15m = 300k CS


    Player 1 Total (CS+BFE+BFA)= 2.9 + 8.9 + 8 = 19.8M CS
    Player 2 Total (CS+BFE+BFA)= 16.4 + 7 + 0.3 = 23.7M CS

    Suddently, it looks a lot more balanced on the sheet... If we go further and look what happen when they are both coming back from KO (~17% troops/spies):

    Player 1 Total (CS+BFE+BFA)= 0.5 + 8.9 + 8 = 17.4M CS
    Player 2 Total (CS+BFE+BFA)= 2.8 + 7 + 0.3 = 10.1M CS

    Back from KO, Player1 is nearly twice as big as Player2, BUT Player1 still pays little to Player2, Player2 still pays HIGH to Player1.

    This cannot work any longer...

    Here is the beginning of the brainstorming to fix it.

    The Plunder Algorithm should actually be considering:
    • The size of the defender's build, at the instant of the action.
    • The defender's equipment (BFE)
    • The defender's allies bonus (BFA)
    • For the 3 values above: Only consider Attack Stats (Attack Actions) OR Spy Stats (Steal Action)

    As ST4T1ON_H1N3Y mentioned, using pots in the equation is useless. Defensive pots are here to protect you, if you open the door (no pots), there is no reason you should pay less when someone hits you.
     
  11. Could they perhaps put in an artificial plunder ceiling and floor for rounds?

    What I mean is that no matter how small the build, I am guaranteed a minimum of, say, 50 mil per action, instead of the loose change we get now.
     
  12. Poufy, you know I have argued for this change since season two.

    The current formula does seem to take into account raw troop or spy stat (at the moment the battle occurs), pots (which affect raw stat like bfe & bfa), and buildings you have to generate the outcome.

    I wholeheartedly agree that ignoring BFA and BFE is beyond moronic at this point in the game and will help in any way I can to fix this and install a more fair plunder algorithm for PvP.

I have been looking at the situation If the BFA limit isnt touched then Hit range shouldn't be it should come in hand in hand.Cap Hit Range because let's me honest if you are my size you can hit up to LB 50 for something. That is ridiculous also if we are making these changes for fairness I say BFA should also be capped.
     
  19. Bfa shouldn't be capped, people worked way too hard for their bfa. My proposal would be that everyone is paid based off their build size, not the other persons build size
     
  20. No sorry I totally disagree you can't have one without the other. So you are saying only cs should be limited when a BC spy build is still out of range from LB bfa ? No sorry that just doesn't make any sense at all. Seem to be turning around to actually help the LB once more other than the average Joe or even now the bc player.
