So devs new pitch for season 5 wars isn't all that great, and I'd like to pitch one of my own. I like the direction devs are going, changing thing up and TRYING (didn't to a good job, sorry) to eliminate exploits. I think season 5 needs to be available to everyone. Which is why I think it should follow the indi war style format. But with some twists. -DotNet- had an interesting idea, with being able to chose your teams. Being a captain and choosing from a pool of players. Here's my idea: War Type Let's call them Season Wars. It's rings. Anyway, they're a mix of individual wars and primal wars. For balance reasons (and eliminating exploits) BFE and BFA are disabled, BUT you cast and leave any clans to participate. I'll cover the mechs of season wars later. It's this way so that anyone who wants to participate can do so (certain EE clans have stupid participation policies) and it's balanced so builds like shadow hansel don't ruin it. Preseason The preseason determines the available captains for war. The preseason can be however long devs feel the need to be, but it ultimately decides team captains. It arranges a list of players who have competed in these style of wars based on number of wins, with the most wins being chosen for captains first. For example: John - 7 wins Lori - 6 wins Steve - 5 wins And then blah blah under them In order to participate in a war, you must cast at least 2 hours before a scheduled war begins. That's the sign up deadline S5 2 hours before a scheduled war starts (note this is during the actual season 5), once the sign ups have passed, based on how many people have casted (total casted / 20 for 20 man rosters), the amount of captains needed (whatever that total amount / 20 is) are sent a request asking if they are available to team captain for the upcoming season war. You can decline and there is no penalty in doing so. However failure to accept or decline will remove you from the upcoming war. Team captains are decided based on pre season war record. It starts asking from the top, and if more are needed it will continue to ask more users. Once the captains are chosen, 1 hour before war they are brought to a screen to start choosing their rosters. If there's and odd number of teams, the odd man out gets to do the rancor EB with their roster. To prevent these people from doing them again, they're placed in a priority list on the next war they participate in. The priority list must be empty before anyone else can be chosen. The choosing screen (contains max of 38 players) is displayed to 2 separate team captains. It's random who gets to pick first, but it's also weighted. Haven't picked first in a while? You have an increased chance at being able to choose first. Anyway, the team captains have 1 minute to chose a player. On the screen, it will show a players name, their stats and their pre season wins. If they didn't participate in the pre season, it shows 0. You can scroll through all the other players and blah blah blah. If a captain fails to chose a player within one minute, you'll get a random player. Once the rosters are chosen, all players in a team will join a clan and rosters get locked. A warm up clock starts. All wars start at the same time, so that way you aren't stuck in a clan after the war ends. All wars are 1 hour long with 1 regen. Season 5 can last however long devs want. That's just my pitch. Thoughts? If you're confused on anything, post it here or pm me and I'll try and explain in better detail. Tldr? Preseason determines captains who chose roster for their clan. Rosters are bracket based.
EXTRA STUFF READ IT The captain can assign people rolls, so let's say I want to make John a war commander or tracker, John can be asked during warm up to do so. If someone with this roll going inactive or moles or something, they get a 20 war shattered sword, which means they can't participate in the next 20 scheduled wars. If a regular player goes inactive or moles etc, they get a 10 war shattered sword. if you have any idea to add to this, post them and if myself or the community agrees I'll add them to this list of extra stuff
We've already seen that primals can be "exploited" with the whole dotb tank/hansel roster thing. Though I don't see it as an exploit, it's strategy, just as using SH is a strategy in round wars. The only non-exploitable wars are indi wars - but the point of season wars is to find who has the best strategy, therefore indi is not suitable. Primal is not suitable because it does not allow for full use of an accounts positive and negative attributes. Therefore round wars are the solution - they allow for many strategies (some more successful than others, admittedly) and allow for full use of all areas of an accounts strength.

How is that invalid? I'm saying that build include their bfe and bfa and in your suggested war format neither of them is incorporated. Read what I write before you dismiss it as invalid.
Gotta go with nottom here, though the idea is neat ive always thought bfe at least should be enabled in wars
Well, when you think about including bfe, some people (cough redstar cough no offense) could have well over 375m bfe from one piece of equipment! (Granted it is the abyssal sword, but still! Would make bc players static attack > all the defense) so I do see the reason against bfe.
