It legal in my whole country, already, and, of course I Support it!! The state should never decide over something so personal like love and marriage. Not my words, it has been said for philosophers and thinkers before, I'm sorry if I don't have the quote close to me .
I'm not against same sex marriage, at least on Earth. They can get married, adopt, etc., but I believe it's a sin. And homedawg said he has no respect for religious people because they believe that some things are wrong and are sinful. He hates Christians because they don't accept homosexuality as real marriage. He has no respect for me because I am Christian. I don't mind homosexuals. I don't say it's an OK action, or that it should be deemed acceptable by the church, but I won't hate a person who is homosexual just for their homosexuality. And being gay isn't necessarily a sin. It's the action of homosexuality that is the sin. Here's an example- Is it wrong for a straight man to be attracted to women? No, it's completely natural. Is it a sin for a straight male to have sex with the girl he's attracted to before he's married? I think it is because of my beliefs. Now, would I kill someone over that? No. But I would accept and love the person anyway. Same with gays. It's not necessarily wrong for them to be gay, but it is a problem for them to perform homosexual acts.
"Enlighten the people, generally, and tyranny and oppression of the body and mind will vanish like spirits at the dawn of the day." Thomas Jefferson "Love, and do as you will." St. Augustine of Hippo Here ya go my friend. Not the quotes you probably were thinking of, but they should suffice.
"If Jesus was God's only son, and we are all God's children, then we are all girls. And lesbians." -Philosiraptor
It's a basic human right. There is no need to make homosexuals into second class citizens. This is the twenty-first century after all, it's neither yours or my choice to say that someone can't get married. It's their right to get married.
Exactly. But I think we need to make a law legalizing gay marriage. Just to make it clear. At least here in the US.
People who think that they're so good that they can others how to live their lives really bothers me. You are entitled to live life as you please, as long as it doesn't do harm to others. Preventing people from marrying is considered harming others. Getting married isn't. Treating gays as second class citizens is harmful. Treating them as equal isn't. I never understood the argument that Christians should be allowed to discriminate against people based on sexual orientation. Should a KKK member be allowed to kick a black person out of his store because the customer is black? Of course not.
I never said I hate you. I said I dont respect you. I think those are two very different things. Hate would imply I'd want something bad to happen to you or something... I dont hate you, I dont even know you..
Who cares? It's not right, but who's to stop them? It simply comes down to education. Educate people why you don't inbreed, and then they won't inbreed. Otherwise people will just live together as partners without getting married. Again, I don't really care if two cousins wanna get together. There's no way to stop them from living together as partners. Education is key.... Not forcible restriction
Is it OK for me to demand that a Muslim bakery make a cake with a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad eating bacon? No. Does the bakery have the right to refuse to serve me? Yes. The same should apply to all businesses. I think that a restaurant should have the right to refuse service to someone because they have religious beliefs that would be broken by serving the customer.
And why don't you respect me? Because I am a Christian and therefore believe that homosexuality is wrong. Did you also notice that I wouldn't discriminate against a homosexual if they came out to me? I wouldn't wish any ill will on them at all. I would love them like any other person I met. Love thy neighbor.
Love is love. If I couldn't marry the man of my life, as a straight person, I'd be devastated, just like any other woman, same thing if I were to marry a woman. Imagine being denied marriage for someone you want to grow old with, raise a family, and do all the things heterosexuals do. A normal life, loving who we want, loving and marrying who we'd like to marry in our own home state. What is done behind closed doors, well to say the least, it is their business. Not ours. For those who are saying all people of a certain religion are wrong for discrimination, keep in mind, not all do so. There are good people and bad people. And in this situation, there are people who think good and bad, but it just depends from where you stand and observe.
Prophet Mohammed eating bacon is offensive. That's totally different. Should the Muslim make a cake with a normal person eating bacon? Probably.
Ok. Heres where I get a little angry. How is it a "problem"? Does it affect you negatively that I suck the D on occasion? I know it doesnt affect me negatively. Ayy lmao. Is it a problem just because you say it is? Just because your stupid religion says its a sin? Thats why I dont respect you people. You cant even think for yourselves beyond your book.
Even though the law may not be passed here in my home state, I am glad that my mother accepted me. I'm glad I live in a world where it is slowly getting better, and even though it may only seem like so on my side, I know there are other places where someone cannot be themselves. I pray for those who cannot be and let be, I know how difficult it is and just how dark it can get when the truth is being oppressed from the world. But to all those who are secretly hiding, stay strong. Here to talk anytime
