[title2]Backstory[/title2] In the year 2015, all the nations of the world agreed to a resolution that would do away with all weapons. Down to every last pistol, to every last tank. NATO, and the EU disbanded. They were no longer needed. World peace was achieved. Was. A year later, a terrorist group, calling themselves the Shuda, smithed their own guns and launched attacks on all nations of the world. This act shook the resolution to it's core. Many nations began to pull out. Including world powers such as Canada and North Korea. The only treaties and agreement that would remain in place is the ones made without the intervention of the UN. (The Geneva convention is mutually agreed to stay in place.) Some nations have begun to rearm themselves. Either to conquer the world or defend from foreign powers. In doing this, they sparked paronia out of their neighbors, starting an arms race. Taken countries: *No, you can't play them. Re: World Leaders - PBP France France is a peace keeping country. As a nation, France can and will provide for it's people. Our values lie in the heart of those in our homes. But, do not test us. Friendly we may seem, but threats are not dealt with sincerity. You will feel the ferocious fangs of our mighty and eternal wrath. Do not cross our path. Ruled by the intelligent, and political mind of the Democratic Republic Council, our leader Johann Smith will lead France to it's rightful place in history once again. Whether is be by peace, politics, or war, we will not be cast into the shadows. France is run by a council of 13 men and women. Appointed by the president, the council and president are equals. The president can make executive orders, but once things get out of hand, he or she will be dealt proper justice. Upon Frances induction into the world, there will be no official military. Re: World Leaders - PBP Israel With it's rich culture and even more richer background, it's no surprise that Isreal is one of the most influential Middle Eastern countries, possessing great economy and with technology to boot, Israel had established a treaty with the Palestinians- and for a while there was peace. The peace did not last though, as of 2020, the population exceeding roughly 8 million, citizens have no place to live and most have been fired from their jobs. Soon, Israel enters a state of poverty, and the surrounding Middle Eastern countries take advantage. Ties with Jordan and Egypt are broken, ties that have lasted since 1994 and 1970 respectively, and tensions with Turkey have been strengthened. Now Israel is not a place of culture, but rather a place of ruin, as a result of a war, a nuclear meltdown, riots, the resurfacing of the H1N1 virus, and the assasination of the Isrealite president, many Israelites are dead, now with only 2 million people left to populate the once rich cultured country. Israel has fallen. At least that's what they assumed... But secretly, an underground operation known as the Jerusalem Effect, is training soldiers and retaliating to the attacks, bombings, and riots. Only one man leads this operation. Devon. Soon, fortifications have been built, an Air Force base in Jerusalem, filled to the brim with scout, attack, and bomber jets, and an infantry unit in the remains of the bombed Tel Aviv-Yafo to nurse back to health and train the scarred Israelites. With their former foreign policies being broken, many Israelites have no trust to anyone except their own country, and alliances are hard to come by. Will Israel be saved? Also in early support of the Un resolution to remove all military weapons, all of Mexico’s military equipment (25 planes/30 Tanks/ one carrier fleet/10 artillery systems) and personal (100K) are moved over to the new militarized police force. 2014: The Mexican manufacturing industry has been moved into the mountains and the project are nearly complete and all military bases are shut down after being fully modernized. 2017: All projects are complete and educational reform begins. 2020: Since the rest of the world is rearming, Mexico moves all of the Militarized police force back over to the Mexican Armed forces, which has increased to 100K more men and women over the years.

He holds his hand out towards the crowed and smiles, his deep green eyes hogging the cameras with his slicked back brown hair reflecting the sun. He embraces the crowd chanting his name for a moment as he absorbs the moment like one would absorb the rays of the July sun. He leans into the 2 dozen microphones and takes one more breath before delivering his speech. "We have allowed extremes to damn our very lives. The world has entered in arm races before, only to make war more destructive, more costly, more... Violent. Than, in the error of our ways, we countered that extreme by disarming the world and left ourself open to be freely attacked by those who only wish to bring death and demise to the world. It is on us to never reach these extremes again and Sweden will corner all nations in this example. We shall continue to aim for the stars by advancing our technology in both space travel and atmospheric flights. Though we will also rearm our police and reinstate our countries military; the airforce and navy shall be a center piece of this rebuild." The crowd cheers "We will also be offering permits to our citizens to own and carry small arms such as pistols and hunting rifles so that you can defend your family!" The crowd cheers louder. Rustic pauses and smiles. "I was a child, born in a small town in the uppermost part of this great nation. My family was poor but my dreams was big. I always was fascinated with the stars. I would get to live my dream... So now, it is my job to do whatever is in my power to ensure you, the people of Sweden, to live out your dreams! In this world of extremes, we shall only be extreme when it comes to living out the dreams we so tightly clench too!.." Thank you"
Re: World Leaders - PBP 4 Nations have written their backgrounds. So far everything looks good, information here will be key. The more detailed you make your introduction the better the game will progress for you, because you will be able to avoid posting background information and can build off a a more enlightened cultural heritage. Once one more nation writes there we can officially begin. (However we may stall for one or two more people still)

After the rebel attacks deteriorated largely and the rebels gained power,massive recruitment drive for the armed forces was launched (it increased from about 80,000 to more than 160,000 personnel). New weapons - including fighter jets, artillery guns and multi-barrel rocket launchers - were bought from countries like China, Pakistan and Russia, and new military strategies and tactics were evolved. Eventhough, Sri Lankans are peace loving people, befriend them, they will give their head to you, attack them and they will cut your head off for you!
