  1. So media like to make out big deals out of white men/women shooting minorities. Late 2014, and 2015 have been especially packed with events of racist shootings. Take Ferguson for example.

These shootings have caused many riots and protests. Some protests getting especially violent.

My question to you, are these shootings fair to protest against?

My opinion is no. Now before you pull the racist card out on me, let me explain why.

Police shootings happen all the time. You never hear about a white man shooting another white man. Never hear about an African American shooting a white man. But as soon as a minority is shot, first thing to happen is for media and society to pull the racism card.

People are killed by police officers daily. This happens because there is a deadly threat imposed on civilians or the police force. Pull a knife or a gun, and chances are you're gonna end up with a bullet in you.

So what are your opinions? Are protesting against shootings towards minorities fair? Why or why not?

Anyone causing mischief, or is prejudice in any way, shape, or form can and will be asked to leave this thread. Anyone who does not comply can and will be reported to moderators or support.

  2. The media just seizes on whatever will get them better ratings. More people will watch when race is involved, simple as that.

  3. I completely agree with you. Yes, cops have been racist/biased towards minorities, but in the end, social media is just over exaggerating for publicity. Will definitely be following this thread. It's gonna get dirty.

  4. The minorities protesting are racist themselves and ******* idiots.

  5. Michael Brown didn't have a knife or gun, he just fought the cop. So it's not always weapons. Either way, innocent people being shot isn't good. But cops do need to do their jobs and shoot when necessary

  6. I see no point in riots over shootings, as they are even worse than the police, especially if the shooting was justified.

  7. Lol so if i dont agree with you basically your gonna aks me to leave lol

  8. How the heck did you get that out of what he said?!

  9. There was a Hispanic man in my town who got shot a few weeks ago. Him and his family were having a get together, alcohol was involved, and things got heated. This mans uncle pulled a knife on his family. This man and his uncle left the house, and on a corner near his home, things got a little rough. The fight got broken up, and the mans father was called. He sat in the car with his father until police arrived. When the man stepped out of the car, police say he was aggravated and assaulted the officers. He was shot in the abdomen with a rifle.

The officer who shot him said she saw the man pull a knife out of his pants. He was searched, and found no knife.

  10. No, you can disagree. HOWEVER, if there are any prejudice or derogatory terms written and posted on this thread, they will be reported.

I said it isn't fair to protest. That would imply I show racist views unless justified, which I infact justified without any racial bias.

Go ahead and disagree, but don't judge someone for their skin tone.

  11. You can protest anything you want, long as you aren't doing anything wrong.

That being said, it only takes one person to turn a protest into a riot.

  12. This needs a correction IMO. The media talks about white police shooting minorities. And not just any minorities. African Americans.

Race crimes aren't the normal between citizens. Statistics do reflect this. Gun crimes are committed by criminals. In the criminal world there is a respect regarding crimes on other races. Kind of.

So we should keep it legit. It's the media reporting on police shootings. Not white people shooting black people. White cops shooting black men and boys. Make sure you keep the cop in there. It's not the civilians.

  13. I guess my question would be more appropriately addressed as "Is protesting morally right or justified in your opinion?"

  14. I hoped cops/police officers were implied.

  15. Depends on the shootings the protesters want to protest.

    #Icanrbreathe? - Justified
    #GunForTaser? - Justified
    #ScotWaller? - Justified
Running over that guy? - Justified

  16. A black man committing a crime got killed when avoiding arrest.

Let's burn down our own town!

    /protestor logic

  17. You need to be clear. The first paragraph makes it sound like it is any white person, not the authorities. Current protest are against police brutality, and excessive use of force. Not George Zimmers right to stand his ground.

Don't count on this stopping anytime soon. This is a big loser for the police forces.

  18. I expect better of you! Nah im jk. 

Only a few people did the burning. Don't allow those few to be the face of all. Even african americans are disappointed in those few.

  19. Obviously I'm exaggerating.

But that's the part of the protest the stupid media shows, just like they pick and choose parts of the cases to expose.

People have the right to protest but police and citizens also have the right to defend themselves. When it comes down to it I'll generally accept the polices version than the criminals (regardless of race).

  20. The only reason black folks have to do this. Is because no one else will. Cops gun down all types of people. Homeless people, young people. Teenagers. Of all races. So we as a society have put this on the African American. So we do see Latinos, Hispanics and lots of white people protesting.

You can ball up and make change. Or complain about it. This train isn't stopping for nothing.

We can have protest supported by the government/politicians. Or we can have protest supported by the streets. On the streets terms.

It's that simple. There is no negotiation with this.
