KaW in relation to Social Media

  1. Letter to KaW on Social Media

Hello my fellow Kaw players. I have a series of questions for you all that, with some luck, will draw the attention of the developers and help to make this game better from the highest paying lb to the greenest KaW noob.

Firstly, I want to say that we all know KaW is suffering from a shortage of new players to the game. Without a steady income of new players to the game the future of our beloved game does not look to bright. These are some rough ideas that will hopefully get the proverbial "juices flowing."

Social Media: In our society today everything is driven by the need to be on constant communication whether it be family, friends, or business.
According to a new eMarketer report, “Worldwide Social Network Users: 2013 Forecast and Comparative Estimates,” nearly one in four people worldwide will use social networks in 2013. The number of social network users around the world will rise from 1.47 billion in 2012 to 1.73 billion this year, an 18% increase. As of June 18, 2013.

Many businesses use this great marketing tool to try and get their name out into the public eye and increase their number of consumers. This is where KaW scares the beejezus out of me.

.When a salesmen at a dealership is trying to convince a possible buyer to get his product what does he/she do? They give the consumer a test drive, let the buyer know what they are getting into. This is a idea that I just had, let the new players test out Maxed builds in a controlled environment. Yes, there are many problems with this idea but it's stuff very rough and in the works.

Recently I have been watching you KaW  Very seldom do you all post on Twitter, I will admit it is better on FaceBook but it could definitely use some work! What I want to ask the community is if you all have any better ideas for KaW to get the name out into the public? I would love to see you all do more to increase the beginners player experience. The tutorial is absolutely miserable and needs to be brought into 2015 KaW, not 2010 KaW.

What are better ways on social media to attract more attention to the game? If not Social Media what other platform do you suggest?

First big Forum post so take it easy on me, thanks all and Happy KaWing.

  2. I didn't read everything :D

  3. Didnt read everything, but if they want more players then add this into windows! Hell I'd pay $5 just to download it on my phone

  4. I did read everything. Support.

  5. I also have a windows tablet I wish I could play kaw on.

  6. We need Facebook and Twitter events. Including share this post for xstals or seals. A constant social media team is necessary for any game.

#1 a commercial or ad on YouTube or television. Look at game of war or fire our whatever it's called, terrible game but has more commercials than any game.

Kaw has been in the stone ages for 5 years now let's move this game forward.

Stop saying this game is going to die. People believe it and leave.

This game is next to impossible for a new player to start today and get anywhere close to redstar. This needs fixed

Make this game about wars not the economy of the game. So fix ee wars

  7. Including less pay events and more group events or activities. I think I've gotten a total of 20 xstals from devs in 4 years (not including events)

A set list of loggin bonuses would be an amazing incentive for new players and continued players.

  8. Bring back the referrals, make it so you can share the game with your Facebook or twitter friends. Rewards would be nice, but not excessive.

  9. Get some ads on Pandora or Spotify, tons of people use those. Facebook/Twitter events would be awesome. Nothing advertises better than the word of mouth.

The main issue is out of the new people I see come in, most go inactive because the gameplay experience isn't interesting enough to them. For example, my boyfriend recently made a KaW account. I got him volleyed to a good amount, but the volley process alone is a deterrent. Not only is your game blown up with notifications, but waiting there not really knowing what to do is a bit difficult to deal with. I mean he had my help, and he still wasn't interested in it.

So its not just recruiting new players but its keeping them that's the problem.

My solution? Get rid of the volley process, and give them starting gold, or a basic build.

  10. Actually the game you mentioned is pretty awesome. The graphics are really good, there are plenty of events, growth is fast, and when you get "burned" it's more realistic. It does seem to be a never ending challenge to heal and train troops, but the most dedicated players do.

It's super time consuming and uses a LOT of data. That's the only reason I gave it up.

  11. Full support, I'm going to make various social media accounts to promote my beloved KaW ️

  12. I couldn't agree more. Advertising of any kind on any type of social media or media itself would be beneficial to obtaining newer players.

But again, when you think about KaW compared to other games, there isn't really a whole lot of different aspects to this game. You either hit other players or hit ebs. Yeah you might have to build and equipment hunt as well, but it's all basically linear and doesn't take any real thought or strategy whatsoever.

Honestly, if I were to see KAW in the App Store for the first time today, (aside from the stupid ass drawings they use which would turn me away altogether) and I downloaded it, I would not stick around for primarily two reasons.

    1) Finding out that it would take me years to get the large stats that (ultimately) would be my goal.

    And

    2) Seeing how incredibly favored the spenders are. Not just during events, but ebs and game changing updates and mechs as well.

I know it's about making money. For the company. But it's also a game that's rated 9 plus. How many kids play is still up for debate, but hypothetically speaking if large numbers did play, how are they able to compete against/with adults with jobs and a disposable income? (Same goes for anyone really, but in relation to its rating and cheesy ass drawings which imo are meant to entice the younger population).

Personally, since the release of HTE, which is a now necessary evil in order to grow at a decent rate, the developers have seen how much money they can make off of us, and do so as often as possible. Event after event. Promo after promo. Hell, even splitting the events into two separate categories is imo, simply a means to make more money. Instead of making money off of just the PvE-ers or just the PvP-ers, they're making money off both at the same time. Brilliant. But also obvious.

Anyway, think I've gotten off track..

Basically, sometimes you have to spend money to make money. Giving back to the KaWmmunity, on a more than once a year Black Friday half off sale, would go a long way too. I'm not talking about new ebs, or new equipment, or events that entice players to spend money, I'm talking about "hey, here's 10 xtals, thanks for playing", or "free HtE Fridays" or something like that. Run events like that, that they aren't wanting us to spend money, but simply wanting us to continue playing.

And yeah, advertise how awesome this game can be, not what it is now.

Tldr, I wouldn't download this game today or stick around if I did, kaw needs to give back more often, and they need to advertise after a few changes have been made.

    Sorry for the rant. ️

  13. get an ad on tv like clash of the clans did

  14. Full support with this, also maybe have an official YouTube channel, A certain app where you "clash" (don't want to be silenced :p) did it and have comedic ads

  15. I have a large social media following and have contemplated promoting KaW a few times and then I realized, how many of these people do I want to stalk me on this game.

But, I 100% agree. KaW needs to pull a CoC and promote like crazy.

Before they do this, though, they must enhance newer player experience. It took hours to explain every aspect of this game to my friend I just invited to join and he's still figuring it out and texting me questions.

Work on a better tutorial and a better starter package with more information and then start promoting to the social media audience.

    n.a.r

  16. This is the crux of what I was talking about. Support.

  17. I have a 4 yr old mini alt that is owner of my old pwar clan. It has over 50 xstals from devs still and only used 4-5 during all those yrs. Never have spent $1 on that acct. Yes it's an idevice and I keep it active now and again so it's not deleted like 1 acct was by the devs a yr ago.
My point is don't ask for more xstals. That will shut the ears of devs and this whole thread of ideas will be ignored.

  18. They do need to change some things and add some things. I do think the devs need better advertising but they need something to advertise

  19. Moving forward i agree ads n social media need to be utilized.

Also for new players a war system suitable to them would offer an alternative.
EB only is too prevalent atm.

    Highland Wars:
War for those still building in LL n HL.
BFA cap to discourage exploits n encourage moving on to mid size builds. From there its onto the big leagues after entry level warring n a taste of growing n learning.

With all the new land etc a bridge is needed for newer ppl to have a reasonable gaming experience n the opportunity to compete fairly. Many large family clans could helpout as they do already n guide these ppl in warring.

  20. I think kaw should talk to steam.
