No rain today.. Yay Did a little trip up to the Chief for some bouldering.. Thought i'd share some scenery with you all.. Sunny afternoon.. The cloud fronts were not coming closer.. Make your own bouldering path.. It's a bit slippery with moss.. Old growth cedars give you majestic canopy roof thru the path.. The face of the Chief.. No.. Not climbing that today!! You can see the "Chalk Line" along the crack path.. This one is a wonderful path.. Ahhh.. Bouldering.. It's like Yoga.. Hehe.. The path is on the left.. Minor jumping involved too This is a nice one for a quick climb.. Notice the bolt anchor to the crack line.. This is one of the best places.. The left path is pretty standard (you can see the bolts).. But the right one is with pretty decent overhang! (Notice the bolts hanging down freely).. It's hard to capture the almost M C Escher type of rock geometry and geology.. It's like you're in a world of oblique surfaces you can scale anywhere.. A refresher to end the trip! ️
I was expecting boobs, I was only slightly disappointed, but bouldering is something I've never heard before, could be interesting to try
For those who are not familiar with the term, Bouldering is where you rock climb boulders without ropes, billet, or anchor bolts.. Usually the climb is not very high.. But quite challenging and fun if you do it safely.. Clothing optional but bring lots of muscle, smarts, and chalk!
