Kingdoms At War - Mission Statement

  1. A Simple Ask

Over the course of my time here in game I have witnessed the player community grow, flourish and the game we all enjoy playing transform into what it is today. Some changes have come as a complete surprise to me while others have been very predictable. I believe the game has evolved well and met the demand of the community to keep most of us interested.

With that said, recently I have noted some changes which very pointedly encourage certain gameplay while it discourages others. My simple ask – Where is the game going?

    Current State

Like most KaW players, I enjoy growing my account while interacting with the players in the community. We have seen the developpers take a very hands off approach to their involvement in directly answering questions. An example would be:

This is a very simplistic example of what I mean, but if you want a better example of their interest in taking direct intervention in player game play – Check the guides section of the forum, find me a guide written by developpers.

A player, for instance, making very crucial decisions about what kind of build / player he wants to be has absolutely no idea what a “hansel” is or what % buildings compose a hybrid account. Why build towers? No one is hitting me? The list of questions go on…

    Mission Statement

When I look at the app on the itunes store, I see things like “Scout, assassinate and steal from enemy kingdoms”, “Lead the mightiest army in the Kingdom! Face-off against millions of players as you claim new lands, battle ancient monsters and seize rate items!”

Is that really the mission statement of the game?

With the release of the current event, the previous event as well it is rapidly apparent OSW or PVP between players is heavily discouraged. I draw conclusions and I’m putting words in their mouth saying it, but lets look at the facts:

    PVP Hate:

    · It pays less to hit players than an epic battle
    · Max plunder can be achieved with one bar of items on an eb
    · Rewards for participating in a pvp event (EE/System Wars) Heed pve rewards (Bonus plunder on EB, increased item drop rate). In fairness, Mithril is rewarded as well but
those item rewards have a hybrid purpose (PVE and PVP)
    · The current costs of lands being explored and building upgrades are exceptionally high (See hitting players earns less) and being hit by players results in significant loss. How long can a player in OSW really sit with 450b out waiting to get that last 50b?

I think the mission statement or first line of the app should rather be:

    Accountability

So I suppose what I’m asking for – accountability. What direction is this game going in? For those of us who enjoy the pvp and OSW portion of the game, what can we expect next? When a new player decides at the cost of several hours of research he wants to be a tower build only to go hit epic battles that would be a drastic miscalculation. A mission statement should be clear and all-inclusive for the main effort of this game.

I don’t speak for anyone but myself when I say I want to see more pvp content added. I enjoy the wars thoroughly but I prefer my time spent against other players. But I think I speak for everyone when I say – We want to know where the game is going. Help us understand!

  2. EBs are the best part of this game though

  3. lol

  4. More PvP️

  5. Hopefully devs make a new game structured like the old kaw

  6. Kid turned out alright in the end ^ ❤️

  7. Would love to see the answer from devs

  8. The only way to positively influence change is to submit feedback asking them to address the thread.

  9. Bring back clan wars for mith and prestige 

in my opinion that built more "clan loyalty" or "community" then anything else

Ally stripping, outside hits ...bring all that back

  10. You would think since they shut down FC and GAW that they would have the resources to do this? It's also hard for me to believe that they wldnt see this as being profitable?

  11. They have obviously added more focus and are actively trying to discourage aspects of the game. Getting some actual direction would be nice. Could potentially drive more engagement to the game.

  12. I've said it before more then once and I'll say it again ...Devs aren't all knowing and all seeing. I really don't think the devs have it "ALL" mapped out like everyone thinks they do. Looks like a combination of half planning and half making it up as they go.

If they do or see something that will increase their profitability I'm sure they're willing to scrap all their plans to go the more profitable route at the drop of a hat. Whether it be PvP PvE events whatever ...all that matters at this point is their profitability. So I really don't think they're trying to "discourage certain aspects of the game" if they are it's probably because they feel those "aspects" lose them money or don't make them the money they think they should make.

I always see conjecture in forums about how much devs actually make ...last thread I saw this on couple of people were saying they pull something like 500k a month. I read an online article from "2011" that says they made that much back then. If they were making that much then (way before HTE) what are they making now? ...2 times that? ..3 times that? ..4 times that? (I'ld bet 5 times that or more)  the whole point of this is when anybody or anything makes that much money all decisions will be strictly made on how to increase profitability.
At this point I really don't think they care about what anyone says if it's in direct conflict with their agenda (making money)

  13. Right - but this thread isn't about conjecture regarding their income. All companies change their strategy to increase profitability.

The vision rarely changes, nor does the mission statement. That's what I want to know.

  14. Collect as many resources as you can and avoid conflict at all costs, else youll never be able to keep up

I do think that this game's saving grace is the hit range - many other freemium war apps dont have this type of restriction

  15. You're absolutely correct. Which leads me to conclude its not truthfully a war game where pvp is the focal point. Some of us remember the times before epic battles where the 5 hit rule was courtesy, because being hit was a daily reality. That has changed.

  16. Rollie what I'm saying is that any original vision or mission statement they ever had got thrown out when they started stacking mad paper ...at present their mission statement is ..."MO MONEY, MO MONEY, MO MONEY!!!"

  17. I think the devs have painted themselves into a corner though. How can you protect the gold needed for these huge buildings and lands while enjoying pvp?

The cost would be insane - 25% loss if you do it in BB.

Or you could try your luck and keep gold out, but after a certain point, the loss per hit could mean days/weeks of gold lost.

    None of it adds up.

I think the answer is a better banking system, but then they lose revenue from xtal purchases for strips.

  18. Sweet Christ on rye, iron is still alive. I could've sworn he was gone.

  19. Honestly there is too many suggestion/state of the game threads to read right now.

I think that alone says something.
