I seriously doubt 1 month with decreased income would out ata out of business. Sad that many of you are defending ATA's outrageous profits...I wouldn't even consider it a business. Businesses provide something....these "free to play" apps are more of a scam then a business that prey on addicted players who spend money on notta. So don't see that as a good argument against ops idea. Devs would still get their money from xtal sells. So I support OP! Mostly cuz none of you other idgits do.
1 month is very long time. Maybe a week or two is all that is needed. However, awareness must most definitely be created to support those fighting out there.
Actually what kaw had the ability to do with its donation schemes is give people something for a donation they make. It should not be something that any of us need to donate to a good cause. But far more than that. What they bring to the community they bring recognition to a charity that may not get that same global recognition. We may not be talking millions but each Facebook, kaw chat that gains someone talking about what that game they play is now supporting gains a good cause heightened awareness. Sure kaw is a business. They take a lot. They give us some concessions. But they can do a lot of good things when they try. We can do that daily by choosing charities and donating. Without expecting anything in return. Other than the knowledge we are helping ourselves and everyone we know in a tiny way to make the world a better place. So go look into some crowd sourced research and donate to a cause that's going to make a real difference.
This is a good idea but needs lots of kinks..and yes like others said they can through away income for a whole month
No support, solely for the reason that Developers have to put food on the table and one month will less profits would hit them hard. If you significantly reduced how long this would occur to a weekend, perhaps it would be considerable. However it does have a number of technical flaws and if you are expecting one month of lower profits, it will definitely strain the developers too much.
devs could put plenty of food on the table with a mere 300$ a week averaged, plenty of people do it, people who work their asses off. You reckon these developers who provide nothing but a mildly entertaining low end game selling useless in game purchases are pulling more then that? Alot more than that huh...."need to put food on the table"...you poor brain washed consumer fool.
I see a lot of post about devs and the money look those greedy apes have billions a cut of profit wont affect there banana schedule and they still get cash from xtals since seals and horns will be sold left and right
This is more than a bit much. The entire point is that people would be incentivized to donate their money to a good cause in exchange for some KaW bonuses. If there's literally no incentive than this might as well not even be implemented in KaW at all. A) One month of no profits shouldn't sink a company. That's crazy speak. B) Your analogy is bad. Incentivized donation campaigns raise money, that is why they exist. C) "Don't ask for something in return" - You're acting as though this idea is greedy. If we accept that the OP sincerely was wishing to create a good event in support of breast cancer, we can't act as though they're greedy and just out for themselves. It's one or the other. D) Don't take issue with somebody simply because they support one type of Cancer treatment cause over another. That's... ridiculous, frankly Why do people feel the need to focus on such dumb stuff as this? All Cancer is not the same and different treatments are available for different types as a result of different research. Not sure how this is hard to understand. Irrelevant to the content of this thread. I don't see a cure, do you? Until then, giving money to Cancer research is still a perfectly valid choice imo. That's your choice, but has little to do with this thread. Why no support, then? The developers aren't idiots... they're not going to commit to an event like this and simply screw themselves over by giving all of their money away. At worst, they'd tweak the event to their liking and work with it like that. The developers can take care of themselves. I get your point, though. One of the worst posts I've read in weeks on the forums. If you're going to essentially post "no support" for an idea, at least say why. Otherwise, your post is pointless and might as well not exist.
Did you know that Breast Cancer Research gets more funding than any other charity despite having one of the lowest mortality rates? Tits sell.
