Ok op, you might be upset about me locking threads, actually several users are upset, but our job is this, we need to keep forums Clean for Active topic threads to Be displayed. If we find that a thread is *lack of effort* or is not *acceptable* we have the power to lock these Threads. If some threads that seem to be, lack of effort, but seem to attract attention, or some ideas to Keep forums interesting, we will keep It open, once that thread has done it's purpose, we will lock. If you have an issue with me or other moderators for doing our job, you may email into support@athinkingape.com and take the complaint up with support. Remember, we have 30 moderators against over hundreds of thousand of users, so our job isn't that easy, so we need to keep forums clean from spam. Most cases with threads that gets locked, we actually gather in a team and make our final judgments and decision before one of us locks the thread. So a reminder, if we find that a tread is a few lines long, we can lock it, unless it's like a interesting thread. So if you have a complaint, either, email in or contact us. Thanks for bringing this up so I can take the time to write this out.
Yes I just quoted myself. Just to reiterate how blank they are to our pleas. We must have a revolution.
Support to OP. It's like the dictator mods have a quota or something to ruin fun. Pin them until they all quit.
If you guys did your job and listened to something that the community has mentioned and endless amount of times there wouldn't be this type of problem
Well is not the first time when Eagle locks a thread out of the blue. And for sure not the last time neither. And those who are saying how easy is to make alts on PC compared to devices are just wannabe tech savy who have no idea what are they talking about. Creating alts and ATA IDs on devices takes waaaay less time than making new Facebook accounts. Facebook accounts that get locked quite fast anyway and unlocking require a phone number to be provided. So more SIM cards to be purchased. So much hassle compared with creating ilegit accounts on device.
Aren't there 26 Moderators now? Sorry for going off topic of this thread! In my opinion, it can destroy the ability for the community to discuss on the locked thread further in a way...it also prevents a potential future reply that we can learn from all replies of the locked thread!
And about having threads already about same matter, yes is true. And one if wants to talk about same issue should use the "search" options before starting a new thread. This is how is done in decent forums with decent moderators. Not the case here. If I want to add my input to an old thread a smartass mod will lock the thread using the pathetic "necrobumping" excuse.
@Eagle. Well if the forumers found it boring wouldnt it just die. If its being posted people obviously find it important
If you want forums to be clean/active threads, then start by locking the spammy song lyric threads and threads containing ancient fake stories from yahoo forums. Both are TOU violations ignored by all forum moderators.
Mods are weird with what they lock. Often good threads are locked, yet other times garbage is allowed to float around.
Locking is better than just deleting a post, which happens a lot too. Censorship is a strongly used tactic
This response is pretty unhelpful and unnecessary. "This is non-negotiable" Everything is negotiable. If people call loudly enough for it, devs will be forced to submit. That's the power of a large population of the playerbase wanting something.
There's always room for change. You are not all-knowing, and positive change is possible. That aside, even if change WEREN'T possible, what's the harm in allowing people to discuss things they wished were part of the game? Again, locking has become an excessive habit that seems to kill a lot of discussion for no particular reason.
Guys guys guys. Nothing on the roadmap got done. Stop expecting devs to actually do stuff i mean cmon
This. You can't pretend that every thread that dies needs to be locked in order to keep the forum clean - most should just die on their own without any outside intervention. That's how forums work. And by the way - If you claim that you do such a good job of defending the forums from spam, how come stuff like this is allowed to fester?
Bump for visibility. Also, here's another threadthat was locked (should've been moved imo) by Eagle 19 minutes after being posted due to the thread being "dead". If you want a thread to die, probably shouldn't bump it with a comment, mods.
