Support. When did context become moderated? Sure some things are completely inappropriate. But then there are some words that are needed to be used when in an appropriate context that get censored. Sure, keep the censorship of obvious inappropriate words, however don't go so far as to think algorithms or mods are definitive in their understanding of context. Take cats. P U S S Y C A T is a legitimate word. I know in today's world that it's impossible to think anyone uses it much. But the point is it's not a word that should be in any part censored. BUT IT IS. Austin Powers movies have in each used olays on words, turning sentences that have headed down the wrong way turn into something you can technically say to a child. If they understand the hidden meaning or know what an abbreviated term is, it's safe to say they don't need these words censored. Further. ITS A WAR GAME!! What an oxymoron to take the moral high ground with language when you do nothing but promote fully a worse action...one that has for so very long now been questioned as an instigator to real life crime. IF people want to use bad language in a bad context they should be banned. Yes. No problem there. Let's not censor the whole modern language because really, it's easy to just talk vulgar without using any of the censored words. Keep it nice, but don't develop a game full of rules. That'll just ruin any chance of self regulation. ️
I'm sure the devs are priests ! C'mon devs we gotta cuss a bit it's a f lipping war game for cliffs sake ...darn that was censored fast
Although I do think this was a useless implementation, I don't think it's really restricting the communication. You can still use bypasses, which most of use in clan chat anyway. I rarely saw someone sending the actual cuss word. As for walls and world chat, you'll just have to think of other ways to insult someone, if you really want to do that. PMs are still unrestricted, so you can swear there as much as you like.
The filter is being updated to prevent abuse and create a better environment for all players. You've never been able to say the filtered words before, and this should help educate players on what is allowed. Yes this is a change, and people may need to get used to it. However it should have a positive impact on the community as a whole. tldr: Don't swear, or bypass in public channels and you will be just fine.
