So you don't want your achievement ? And why the heck is it bad that everyone gets to feel like they've engaged with this event ? Yes those running b2b hte dropping seals and xtals have provided the lions share of the wisps but everyone else who has been active and earning still has helped a little. I'm pretty sure that there is a achievement for the top gatherers as well so why not let everyone else have an achievement too ? I hope the Devs can find a way to make more community based rewards to allow people who can't / don't pay to win to feel like they actually have a place in the game.
This initial feedback is quite interesting. I fully support new community events where all players work together to achieve a goal resulting in community awards. I think this is a great idea and direction for the game to take. I’m not complaining about free stuff – I think it’s great. This post is about the level of achievements players receive by just participating in the event, where all players receive the same tier depending on how the community does, regardless of their own contributions. Again, I have a tiny alt with no vigor wisps and a Lvl 4 achievement badge. To date, all achievements have been individually based, even the ‘Community’ ones. Did you take X of types of action? Did you collect X number of items? Did you support a charitable giving campaign? Achieving a lvl4 or lvl5 tier achievement is a source of pride for many players, and I believe individual trophies should have an individual activity component. Time for some math: When the Vigor Wisp leaderboard was last updated yesterday, the community was between 4M and 5M wisps collected. Let’s call it 4.5M wisps. According to the LB, the top 10 players had collected 24k wisps and the top 1,000 players collected a minimum of 768k (understated due to using the base tier level * # at that tier), 17% of the total. This is actually much lower than my expected ‘80/20 rule’ and reflects how large the player base is. This is encouraging to see and reflects how much this is a community event vs just being dominated by the LB. Regardless, I still think there should be minimums before just handing players fully loaded achievements. Tie them to the 100/250/500 reward tiers like past promotions, maybe have tier 5 equivalent to contributing at least the median amount of wisps. There just should be some level of difference between the tiers, and inactive or barely active players shouldn’t be receiving T5 achievements. And at the TLR’s…. Come on, really? The original post was a whopping 189 words. Try reading a book.
As we approach the 6M wisp mark, i would like to thank all of the kawmunity, for it's generosity and support to the small players that needed this spyglass for their new land. And for the golden crux chests that you have given us. Your generosity to pay for HTEs and run TSG/SS/TS/AFF has made this the best event ever. I feel so connected to the leaderboards because they paid for my spyglass. *Tear* As we move forward in KaW, i would like to think we will do more to promote teamwork, not war, in this game you have paid ATA for. Let us do nothing more than work together on community achievements and badges. OSW? Standard EBs? Battle List? These are the old kaw. They make clans individual and don't promote global togetherness. So let's all join hands and thank each other.. Because without numerous HTEs and leaderboards focusing on Global Achievements, this would not be possible. Thank you, Top Players and big wallet spenders!
I'm struggling to work out why you care op. How does smaller players who may have got next to no wisps getting a handful of rewards diminish you in any way shape or form?
@ Giscard, smaller players receiving these rewards by no means impacts me and I'm glad they have the opportunity to earn these items. All I'm saying is that perhaps a lvl5 achievement isn't warranted if they only contribute 'next to nothing'. Again, I'm talking about the level of final achievement, not the rewards. This is the first time we're handing out 'participation' trophies and I for one think it's the wrong direction. If everyone in the game has the same level achievement, is it still an achievement?
