Thanks everyone, it had been so long since I bought 15th HL that I had no clue how much of a difference there was. So I just now checked the Build Calculator which has a great list of all land costs, and you were all absolutely correct. The 15th HL costs 80 bil; in comparison, the first 13 HF are all less than that. So I am definitely confident now that using spyglasses on HF will be a much better deal for me.

So is my thought on atleast 3 free spyglass correct? - I think most has atleast 100 spyglass - I think we're close or at 6M group wisp - Facebook target achieved??? Comment plz! It's a big difference in planning.
We're making some assumptions on price of the new lands though...I'd actually avoid buying anything until we know the prices
why? if the new lands cost more than the top 3 hoarfrost, the players can simply explore them instead of the hoarfrost. you haven't lost anything by unlocking earlier lands, unless they drop the price of the lands (which would infuriate the community due to the fact that the event triggered a massive number of land unlocks).
I suspect Spyglasses will only open new Abyss lands. That would also make it fair. Abyss lands unlocked for everyone and Spyglasses can only be used on those lands. That makes outcome even across all kingdoms.
that wouldn't be fair to players that don't have 15hf unlocked. they wouldn't be able to use the spyglasses at all. and its already stated that the spyglasses are intended for ANY land.
This is one of the fun (can be painful too) things about kaw.. You do need to strategize based on what you know, what the history is and the unknown.. And the help of the community in verifying your strategy.. My main thought is around my 1st point... YOU WILL NOT HAVE A CHOICE OF WHEN (NOT JUST TIME BUT SEQUENCE) TO USE THE SPYGLASS.. It is something to think through.. *i guess I should put the beer down
Sadly the ones who just became hfbc get to waste them spyglasses on the first few new lands. Really wish they could appropriately recode them to be similar to building tokens.
why do people want the top lb to get the 3 most expensive lands in the history of kaw for free? i really don't get it. i bought the next to the last hf days before this event was announced, so i get the last land and the first two new lands free. i could have gotten a lot more. but i'm not going to complain that i'm not getting "enough" free stuff. allowing people to choose when to use the spyglass would be good for the individual, but BAD for the game.
Because the money you blow on let's say the fourth to last HF could be saved and used on cheaper of the new lands to access the more expensive ones so you get a better bang for your buck with your spyglasses
You are wrong,they arent automatical,ashes...the spyglasses are as building tokens but without tempos gold,you need in your inventory the gold to unlock the land.you can read it in the thread...
That's why I also suggest waiting until as late as possible to buy lands and us spyglasses -take all the available time to get gold to unlock cheaper ones to maximize your savings
you can't save the spyglasses. they are used automatically on the next land you explore. so you can't buy the first few new lands to use the spy glasses on the more expensive ones.
No. It's fair as automatic. Those with gold to open all most new lands still have to pay for the expensive ones.
