Problem with windows 7

  1. It's actually possible an update could cause it

  2. Really? How can I see the updates I've done in the last few days? I know how to search for windows os updates history, but as for my other programs, I don't know.

  3. You could also try the Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragment on your computer to get rid of unecessary files on your computer, which should improve your performance.

  4. Well for programs go to "Add or Remove Programs" and then from there you can choose to sort the programs by date.

  5. Do you have a dedicated graphics card or is it onboard graphics with shared system RAM? If it is shared RAM you can dummy down Windows visual effects for better performance.

I know you say your system runs slow, but have you had any random crashes or blue screens of death (BSOD)?

  6. Laptop with an i5 betting integrated graphics however that tells us nothing seems that your computer isn't free up cache the way it's meant to. Not sure how to help u with that

  7. I don't understand why you don't do a system restore. A system restore will affect only system files. You user files (documents, music, downloaded programs) will stay as they are.

  8. I have a AMD Radeon HD 7670m graphics card, plus Intel 4000 graphics (although I think it's not used). I have 4gb of system ram, plus 1gb of graphics. And I haven't had any blue screen of death.

I would use a restore point, but none exist, even though it's set to automatically create them. Strange.

  9. Since you posted this thread (14hours ago) you had all the time to backup your data and reinstall a clean Windows 7.

  10. This method works. I used it to improve iphone performance

  11. Floppy disk? What do you mean?

And yes, i could have reinstalled windows, but I have absolutely loads of stuff on my laptop, not in terms of storage, but individual files. My music, photos, game data, the list is endless.
