Recently I created an alt. The tutorial could be better but that's not what im really here for. Something has to be done about how hard it is for a new person coming into kaw to grow. Getting max plunder for new players is very hard as it is with ally prices. I see two options that would help new players actually grow. Firstly having max plunder under a certain cs. This could be exploited but there wouldnt really be a gain for anyone to stay at small stats. The better option in my opinion would be to have a spell like the new spell which would allow new players to have max plunder without actually having to buy allies. Make this spell last for however amount of time devs want but a notice would appear when the time is soon to run out to let the player know that they will need to hire an ally soon to stay at max plunder. Also making ebs easier to hit would be a better option so that small players can grow faster. Without something being done to help small players grow I don't see how any new person that joins the game will be able to grow well and stay. These are just a few options so feedback is welcome on making these ideas better to suit new players.
The developers are well aware off the plunder issue and working on a way to fix it without exploits. As for EB's being too hard, that is the reason ambush can by hit by any cs, though the jump between t4 and t5 ebs for stat requirements is relatively large. The hunts are supposed to be a way to give players equipment relative to their size to help them hit the higher ebs.
Trust me when I say this, it's being looked into. I encountered the same issue myself when I introduced a good buddy of mine to Kaw a few weeks back. It's not only the tutorial, but also the max plunder aspect that needs to be looked into. You know this is serious, when It's more difficult then ever before to Volly transfer gold to a starter account. Check the ally market, there is no allies under the 700 million gold range or under. Like I said, it's being looked into however, fear not!
New players have been growing fine without all the changes.. Yes the tutorial, but that has been suggested 20 bill times.. And then.. wouldn't it be better for player to get the hang of the idea from the very beginning? I think babying them more at the beginning won't help them at all.. A suggestion could be maybe like a mentoring system that sets up people who want to help with newbs. But just making it easier at the beginning will just make it harder for them to the hang of the whole idea.
I want to reset but I am afraid of being unable to grow quickly enough. All my friends have quit after resetting because it was impossible for them to grow at anything less than mediocre pace.
Please do this, trying to buy an ally is impossible for a nub account like mine. All I can do is hit the eb and make like 500k a hit because there are no cheap Allys, devs please fix
Full support and I do take the mods word they are looking into this because the more people play the more chance they have at making them money. I like the plunder spell and hope this can be implemented. Maybe have it at a certain stat it expires instead of a time [/blue]
Best way to improve growth of new players and have player retention. Automated newbie clan: This would have a automated bot in their controlled by developers, which could answer questions the new players have It would also start ebs, of an appropriate level for the new players. Also a feature I found in other MMO's I have played would be to lock them out of wc temporarily until they understand the basics of what is and isn't allowed in there (yes I realise some experienced players still don't get it) Have mods occasionally take "shifts" in this clan to help these newbies with any questions they have that the "bot" can't answer.
As a community volleying ridiculously high price ranges on new accs/players has contributed to the plunder issue greatly. Let players grow into the prices some teach them the basics, or direct to forums. All i see is 'volley me' or 'help me grow need free hte/rotw' type posts from smalls. For pvp and pve players alike we need to break that tendancy in new players teach them to grow, and to check plunder and such sure its frustrating to have to talk to newbs instead of constant tap tap but if more take the time to teach instead of just over volleying the problem wont escalate AS fast.
