1. The game is called Kingdoms At War. 2. This is a WAR GAME. 3. Go play Candy Crush if you don't want to be hit in a WAR GAME with pretend gold. 4. Keys is hot. 5. That is all.
Bull. Load screen says "we've heard your feedback" <whining> and nerfed the event to cater to the non warring in a war game eb fairys. Don't try make it seem like the devs suddenly changed their mind. This is a result of people crying to devs cause they were taking a few hits (traditionally something devs have always said is "part of the game") ... Until now.
So when I get farmed and it's not convenient devs will do something to help me out then? Right? Cause it's my choice right? No? Why? How is it different? I don't wanna be hit. That's the bottom line of opt out right? At least opt out only delays things. Kudos for the list.
So I made the list and so toddstilluvsbacon is going to farm me for 365 days straight big deal when I get tired of it I can opt out of that as well. When I started this game it was about ebs and the wars were voluntary. Well now you have a core group of would be GODS determining that they RULE this game and people WILL play the way they want and will be hit repeatedly for REFUSING to do the war part. Sadly this reminds me of the straight war game I played where the only way to grow was by hitting opponents and joining clans. There they had would be GODS as well determining who could do what and who could grow to what size. Well eventually they got their wish and they determined what would happen and the game deteriorated until only a few people opted to continue playing with the so called GODS and the game is rarely played longer than a couple months by new people. So go ahead and farm your list and find everyone you want to blame and take your anger out on. You will be doing all of us a favor by giving us a good reason to save our money and to find a new and more relaxed "game" play instead of one full of people who think they have the god given right to determine how other players play the game. As for a shield well as this is a mythological war based game yes there is a possibility because then mages had the power so making a shield spell costing ? gold or ? mith lasting for ? time could very well be possible. What will you PvP players do if that was to happen?
You are overlooking a fundamental disparity between the intentions of the two threads. The Damocles list is for people who chose to war, and then let down their teams. They Opted-In. Some players do not choose to be in this event. They did not Opt in. They aren't letting any team down. So they Opt-out. Seems pretty simple to me. I fail to see how anyone can take personal offense at that. Full disclaimer tho - I have issues with the Damocles thread as well.
Lol we wouldn't care if you hit us during eb events we'd be open to it you guys just asked if people who enjoy being hit would feel good being hit  these opt outers are gonna die.
To be honest, I feel this is a knee-jerk reaction by the community in response to a very poorly implemented "solution" by kaw_com in response to the waves of players who did not want a 2 week period filled with heavy PvP. There were a variety of ways to handle the situation, all of which were better than what they give. I'll even give you a couple at the end. But to remove all ability for a player to be hit is pretty much removing an essential function of the game. I feel its unfair. I feel that that fine print being included was a ridiculous decision. No player, for any penalty, should be able to enjoy immunity from one of the central player-interaction methods (and accountability method) in the game. Want better ways to handle the situation? One was TROLL's. It's in his thread, look it up. Another would be to run this like an elimination contest. You get 10 shards a day. On your first PvP hit, on ANYONE, you are guaranteed your 50 start-off shards as payment. You hit 0? You get a spell auto-cast on you that signals you are empty. If you really want to get out? Hit nobody, all you have to lose is 10 shards. How hard is it to lose 10 shards, really. 15 hits? 20? You can handle it. I feel the main issue in the end is that people cannot be hit, period. I would honestly not be surprised if most people on the hit list are there because they unloaded on someone, then cast the opt-out spell. Said person they unloaded on comes online, finds 30 messages of various attempts, and tries to hit back. "Sorry, person has opted out, you can't hit them anymore". Reaction? "WTF?" Obviously, the very upset event player goes and throws the other guy's name on the opt out list. I've seen players who have the spell. Do I bother to put them on that list? No, waste of my time. If they had unloaded on me before they did? They'd already be up there. There were any number of ways to handle the situation, and PvP immunity was not one that was high on the list.
i dont care about those who opt. out. but, they actually can effect those participating by not even being apart of the event. either way, i dont even notice they are gone.
They didn't opt in. No not at all, i mean it's not like the game is called Kingdoms at War or anything. I joined this game because red apheriun looks pretty like a butterfly. They didn't harm anyone. Ok. So devs removed a ton of shards from the system and half the time the event lasts. Then they half the cost of rewards. Fine, but they remove a ton of potential shards from the system. But the people who dont opt out have more shards right? Maybe but those few shards still make a large difference. Player A is an eb fairy. He gets farmed of his 10 shards daily by Player B. Who gets farmed of 30 by Player C and it goes until the chain of amount of shards someone has gets lb range. So the way i see it, it DOES harm the event. They DID opt in.
i haven't opted out and i wont , but i support the choice to do so. Peeps should have a choice just like life. freedom of choice and all that support.
Not everyone whined. Just enough noisy cowards (I can only assume you are one) to encourage the devs to make this change. So suck it up buttercup and welcome me to your newsfeed. Sorry if that kicks sands in your panties. It's how I choose to play. Your all about choice for players so deal with it.
Here is an example of a legitimate reason to opt out. I just flew half way round the world to NZ because my mom is terminally ill. There are legitimate reasons to opt out. Although I have not.
Why opt out at all? If you're not hitting people for the most part you'll be left alone. You'll get the occasional hit from BL but they'll leave as soon as they realise you have no shards.
I could not opt out while I was at a funeral before the event. Your reason is invalid. If that's why the person opted out so be it. Hopefully that situation is resolved by the time opt out is over. Cause that's when we are coming at them. No one should be given immunity to the chief mechanism of this game. Regardless of the reason.
Don't log on you won't even appear on the battle list. So won't get hit. "I was unable to play kaw due to RL so I opted out" arguments are invalidated even more.
