New Phone

  1. I'm in the market for a phone. This will be my first smartphone.

Tell me what phone you have/reccomend and why you like it. Also, tell me which phones to avoid and why. As long as you're talking about current phones you're on topic. Thanks for the help!

  2. iphone 6 all the way

  3. A never ending debate shall ensue....

I stand by my iPhone as opposed to any Android.

Apple has consistently developed a kick ass product and I enjoy their simplicity and durability.

  4. Give an explanation or get off the thread :) thanks

  5. Yeah I'm not so hot on iPhones but it's definitely an option

  6. ^like the iPhones 6 ability to bend. LOL

  7. nahh forget iphone you do not deserve an iphone.
    go for android

  8. Well, it's really 1 of 2 options.

My son has owned 5....yes 5....Galaxy S3 and 4 phones in the last 3 years, and has broken screens on 4 of them, and one of them just started "not recharging".

I am not a fan of anything not Apple.

  9. If you are looking for simplicity go iphone. But if you are looking for something more open sourced go with android

  10. Galaxy s5

    Why?

The s5 was made before the iPhone 6 and ios8 but yet the s5 had everything ios 8 and iPhone 6 before both came out. In other words, iPhone copied the galaxy

  11. I'm thinking of switching to the Galaxy S5 Mini (because of size and price) if Apple doesn't make an iTouch 6- it's about time I finally get a smartphone. But the problem is that awaiting the Android OS is a little daunting to me, someone who's been using iOS for 4 years.

  12. The fastest phone out there right now is actually the HTC One M8. The LG G3 is looking good too, but the HTC One M8 is proven to have the best benchmark scores testing its speed. Also, it comes with a lot less bloatware than the Galaxy S5.

I had a droid before, nothing special. It was a cheap little Android phone, but it handled pretty well. I did a lot of research when looking for a phone under $100 unlocked, lol. That was the LG Optimus F3. The F6 is the same phone, just bigger. I would rather have the F6, but at the time the F3 wasn't as cheap as it is today.

I am currently using the iPhone 6. I am enjoying it very much. One thing I really enjoy is a better app store. Most good apps are supported on the Apple App Store before the Android App Store, unless Android exclusive of course. iPhone 6 is also more sleek and a much more comforting feel with IOS8, the nice larger screen, camera, fingerprint scanner, exclusive features, and lightning charger. It also has a few benefits in KaW, like when EE warring you can return to where you left off when backing out of a profile back onto the clan roster. Thus, saving the trouble of scrolling back down every time it resets to the top like it does on Android.

The iPhone 6 is now competing with Android phones and reaching out to customers by being easier to compare. They now have larger and even tablet like screens and a few cool things most Android phones already had. Android phones have one thing iPhone's do not. A more open source device. You have a file explorer with "jailbreaking" or "rooting" unlike iPhone. You can also customize a lot more and it is much easier to "root" your device. Once "rooted" there is also a lot more to customize with your "rooted" device compared to a "jailbroken" iDevice. Also, you can get apps for FREE without "rooting" or "jailbreaking" your device. You can simply toggle some admin settings and download an apk file off some website you found on google and install your new free app and start using. There are so many more customizing and special features with and without "root" access. Also, for KaW it will never be as fast as iPhones at their normal speed, but with a few setting toggled you can get very close. Be sure to take care of your Android device though and clean your cache and all every once in a while. It always helps when you have the ability to do so.

All in all, both Apple and Android devices both have their benefits. Decide what is best for YOU. Not what people say is best for them.

    Good luck with your choice!

  13. Guys, the phone is this guys first smartphone.

There are 3 routes, however only two have KaW in their application stores.

    Windows phone, Apple or Android.

Being experienced in both apple and android I can tell you...
    Affordability, customisation and general power.
    Android

iOS aren't as creative as they once were but people enjoy the simplicity of iOS. Downside is the pricing for these phones and how long your device is compatible with their OS. Hit a certain amount of time and your device is dropped from their update lists.

Entry level phones I highly suggest a moto g or moto e.
These are great starter smartphones that can ease you into everything. Great thing is these phones have next to no bloatware off contract and they are pure android.
However, if you want a mid range... Moto x 2013 or 2014 is a good choice. Moto E or G $100-300 (Moto G being betterthan the moto E) Moto X $400-$500 (Moto x 2014 is running the latest upto date specs and has amazing features)

Also with the amount of customisation in android... You could even make your phone play like an iPhone.

Uh, iOS is different. Phones aren't cheap. I don't delve much into their market much anymore but I believe their phones are about ~$600-$1000 depending on the size of your memory (16, 32, 64, 128)

This talk about iPhone 6 PLUS'S bending and exploding in people's pockets is rare.
The normal iPhone is a safe bet but iPhone 5s or 5c are probably cheaper and are still running the latest iOS (I think)

But yeah, I was into apple before android made me transition. Good luck with your decision.

  14. Lol infamous! When you buy a phone the fact is going back to the top of the roster or not in a tap tap game is a criteria for you? But if its about KaW... KaW faster on iPhone 6? Faster than what Android device? Probably than an $100 Android phone. Was using an iPhone 6 for few weeks and wasn't faster not even than my ancient Galaxy S4. Now I went for an Nexus 5. Super cheap (only 340euro) and I'm going to keep it until March 2015 when HTC and Samsung will release their 2015 flagships. But this Nexus for sure has the best price/user experience ratio.

  15. Vlad agreed, I'm using the nexus 5 and it's incredible.
Pure android and it's going to be getting Lollipop first because the nexus program is google's little baby.

  16. No Vlad! LOL

It was just a thought that could be really important to the OP :p

I personally got the iPhone 6 because of the iPhone for Life plan which guarantees me the latest iPhone every 2 years for little to no cost as long as I return my current phone in good condition. Apple care plus lifeproof/otterbox = a solid 2 years, lol.

Before that plan was released I was going to get the HTC One M8. It is PROVEN the fastest phone on the market. Idk how it plays KaW though. I know stock all Android phones are slower playing KaW, but there are settings to make it faster. I just wonder if once you change those settings if KaW actually plays as fast or faster on the HTC One M8 with the modified settings.

Android and Apple are both solid for their own purposes. If you are not simple minded or not appealed by an iPhone for life plan then I would get a top Android phone for sure for the best overall smartphone experience.

  17. Apple made the first smartphone ever.

  18. Wow great stuff and good reads. KaWing faster on an iPhone is a legitimate plus to me... I was already looking at the HTC one m8 and the lg g3 as my top 2...

I have it narrowed down to 4 phones I think:
    iPhone
    Htc 1 m8
    Lg g3
    Galaxy s5

  19. I was going to buy an iPhone but I was showed all the things droid can do and apple could not do, so I have droid now, droid forever

  20. IPhones jus are remakes of the same model made by the late Steve jobs himself wait if the Creator not around to create what will become of the technology
