I am going to second a idea about a draft. You could be shoved into a grouping of similar players and fight another group of similar players. These guys will have a special clan name and possibly a symbol. This symbol could be a achievement you get if you and your team win. Saying "the __________s won war #31!" Nice stuff like items, equipment, xtals and gold could be given out to the winners. Obviously those who were inactive or barely trying would not get the award.
