Introduction I have been admin a few times and have some experience as an unincorporated merc. As an admin I found it disheartening to choose an eb which failed, for two reasons; lost gold for your friends and more difficulty recruiting due to the failure on your history. As a merc it is disheartening for me to see the same clans struggling with eb's that are out of their capability, over and over. I decided to try to come up with a guide to help people like me to choose an eb that will succeed every time. My original hope I wanted to produce a list with the required total attack stat, or the required number if actives with their average size. Three things stopped me: 1. Damage per attack point reduces as the attack stat increases. (So if a 1m attack stat hits for ~150, a 10m attack will only do ~550 not a linear relationship) 2. Most clans have a mixture of sizes of their actives, so for the same reason as point 1, it would be of little value. 3. My math isn't good enough! The rule of thumb: Use easier eb's to work out which eb you can do based on who is awake/active. This list is approximately doubling in difficulty from one to the next: The Despair (t2) The Reckoning (t2 boss) Ambush (t4) The Haunting (T5) Figure of Death (t5 boss) So if you aren't sure which you can do, do the previous one in the list and if you complete in half it's time you are ready for the next. I would advise that if you are of a size to complete The despair, it is better to train on The Forgotten Ones, or warbeasts. Knowing you can do a more difficult eb doesn't necessarily mean that you can do the ones in between, notably battle royale, origins and no mans land are more difficult than ambush for low level players to complete within time. Unlocking up to the next in the series may take heavy advertising drives, xtals and mercs. Once you have gotten to tier 5, and have done experimentation, you will start to get a feel for which eb's you can do. At the higher end of the eb spectrum there is a lot more player movement between clans, so a guide like this becomes less relevant. Disclaimers: 1. I don't speak on behalf of any merc group 2. The rule of thumb isn't fully tested, treat it as a conversation starter, where the replies below will be more valuable than this post in time. 3. I'm not a big player and am not an expert so this may all be bad information, I'm hoping this will get the real experts involved in the conversation, please read the replies below for more info. 4. This is the 3rd attempt to post this, so I apologise for how brief it is.
Thats how I do it lol only sometimes your members whine they want bigger ebs this is when I say okay, you better be ready to recruit. And when or if we get defeat or have to have mercs finish eb for us, I now have a reference to pull up as to the reason why we dont do bigger : )
Very true who wants to fail ebs or ask for Mercs lots up to clan to figure out best chance of completing an eb at any given time
