How to Reduce Bullying While Retaining PvP Fun

Discussion in 'Ideas + Feature Requests' started by Celeborn_2, Feb 1, 2014.

  1. 1) Who are we kidding that needs reworking anyway  2) A fair idea but could probably use some fleshing out. At what point do these spells become available? Is guerilla worth 6 when at at absolute best you'll get 4 hits with it? (Thinking a full regen takes an hour, could be incorrect)) 3) Not gonna happen. Devs simply won't implement this. Lol. 4) What steps would be taken to ensure that wasn't abused? That's a powerful tool that can be used by anybody. Could cause a lot of trouble.

  2. If you have nothing substantial to contribute, please leave my thread. Thx

  3. 1- I can drop equip, unload on a noob, put it back on, and not get hit.

2- The spells that we have are just fine as is

3- No ... Just no. Free ally market

    4- ******* stupid and unnecessary

If you don't want to get bullied, don't antagonize someone, don't overstep your authority, and KNOW YOUR PLACE.

'Bullying' causes players to quit all the time, but it is unlikely that those players would've spent any money, or very much at all. It is more likely that the 'bully' would spend money, and more than any of the people he caused to quit combined, and devs don't need income from baby accounts, they probably don't spend money, or much at all. If they someone spends money, they're probably smart enough to grow and play correctly unless its a kid spending parents money

Everyone needs to quit with this 'bully' ********

  4. I don't know whether this is technically a bypass, but I do know that I don't want it in my thread.

  5. Closer hit range i agree with, but that might cause further issues in EE i think unless devs got rid of hit ratio. The rest? No.

  6. Full support on 2.
Half support on 1, only because I was attacked by a 5m cs attack guy during OSW.

  7. Hell no to 4.

  8. "Bolt of Vision (6 mithril, 1 hour): a 50% chance that your opponent's name will be revealed even on successful spy actions"
Great idea. Needs to be longer than 1 hr. 50% chance is wayyyyy too high! 5/10% Max.

  9. I enjoyed the read up to #4, while someone on break the key time to strike an cause massive damage so support for more pvp mith spells *throws peace sign*

  10. I hate most of your idea especially number 4. But I would like to see the dev test reduced hit ranks in war to see how it effects the game

  11. Know your place is fine for people who get themselves into trouble, but a lot of people were simply minding their own business, or expressed an opinion someone didn't like.

My PM's are full of people who said they supported my thread, but didn't want to say it because they were afraid of getting farmed. It's getting pretty bad when you can't even say "I support" without someone going after you for saying it. What's their place?

And what does how much they spend have to do with it? KaW makes roughly $15,000 a day just from iDevice users alone. Smart businesses people know that pennies add up. And I don't think the Devs are stupid. Nor do I think they're short sighted enough to only want big spenders. It's the social aspect that's making them money. Players join, have fun, and get their friends to join. That steadily increases their income, big spenders or not. As a businesses person I'd want to encourage more players, not less. And this game is marketed to people ages 9 and up. That means we have a lot of kids here. They're often easy prey to adults with big accounts. Letting them get abused doesn't send a good message to the parents. It's bad for business. That's why they have moderators to police the place. But the moderators are few against many. They need all the help they can get.

Finally, why are people getting upset that other people are trying to help some players out? I don't understand it. I wouldn't tolerate the behavior of some of these players in real life if they interacted with me. I'd say something about it. Why is that wrong to do it here?

  12. Anything these days can be considered bullying if you think about it. The definition of bullying is "the use superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants."

    1. Narrow the Hit Range
This is unnecessary. There are always people willing to help against farmers. The hit range at the moment is perfect where it is at. The reason I say this is due to the fact that there is always someone exponentially bigger and smaller than you to help you out, Let's say you're a 200k cs getting smacked around by a 800k cs. You ask for help then someone bigger than the farmer can intervene.

    2. Guerilla Spells
Spells are fine the way they are.

    * Berserk Mode - All you did was make the other person's job easier. You self pinned and now all they have to do is skim to pin you.

    * Bolt of Vision - Even with a 50% chance to show whose spying on you doesn't mean its going to stop. If someone wants to stay on you they're going to regardless of who hits them.

    * Veil of Discretion - Ok, you hid you're spells but it really doesn't do anything else. Might as well just have them show. Waste of money/mith.

    3. Stop Excessive, Involuntary Volleys
Volleys are effective money makers in the game. Volleys both Involuntary or voluntary both give profit. This keeps the ally market ever expanding. IF you don't want an ally bought over price it.

    4. Allow People to Take A Break
Everything lost can be regained. They aren't tearing down your build. They aren't attacking your actual device. So just set the phone down, step away from the computer, and go enjoy real life.

This is a tap tap game. No one can force you to do anything you don't want to do.

  13. Nice bypass. also nothing to do with the topic whatsoever.

Anyway I know i may regret this but oh well. I am unhappy with these threads as they all describe the same thing, that anyone can pull the bully card for any kind of action against them. I do however believe that harassment and bullying do exist on this app, in which case emailing support can get that resolved pretty quick. Unfortunately there cant be ONE definition for bullying. But pulling the bully card for inc hits, or war smack talk(that doesn't cross any lines), becoming a clan farm, or anything on those levels really takes away from the people who are legitimately having bully or harassment problems. I've seen too many people claiming bully because someone keeps hiring their allies, or someone keeps hitting them, or whichever. You shouldn't in anyway come onto a war game EXPECTING no one to attack you. Maybe when you find the game called "UTOPIA" then sure, email someone when you get an attack. So in the end i think for the sake of people who have legitimate harassment issues, we need to wuit throwing the bully card at every little thing that happens. And yes more people are guilty of it then they will ever want to admit or believe.

  14. @Acetown

Absolutely. There's a lot of people who claim to be victims, when in fact many are just getting what they deserve for something they've done. It's a grey area. I've farmed plenty of people for various reasons. I've always stopped when I got an apology though. I don't keep on doing it just because I can. I make my point and move on.

I think if you come to the forums and politely express an opinion, you shouldn't get punished for it. If you come here and flame someone, you're asking to get hit and you deserve it. Actions have consequences. Same goes for starting something then expecting to get bailed out. KaW's always had a lot of drama and everyone has stories they can tell.

What motivated me to speak up though is a practice I've seen increase ever since HTE came out. People being coerced to use seals. There's always been various ally scams. Those are bad, but that's fake gold. Seals almost always cost real money. That crossed a line for me. It seems to be the same interconnected small groups doing it as well. I thought it was time raise awareness of the problem and to put them on notice. I'll try to behave doing it.

    :)

  15. This is one of the dumbest things I've read.
    Go back to your eb.

  16. I completely agree stripper. You can simply put your device down and "POOF" your no longer the "victim" of an imaginary situation.

  17. I concur stripper

  18. I was about to reply in length but having read ace and chairs response I have to say I 100% support what they say and couldn't say it better but want my support known
    Nicely said 
