Person wouldn't convey exactly what the word homie represents. Homie means someone you grew up in the same neighborhood with, person means just anybody and wouldn't have the same impact. What's wrong with it?
Nothing's wrong with it, but usually when I think homie, I think of it as a racial term for black people. And just last page he jumped on someone for saying cracker.
Maybe because I worded it wrong in the first post I used person, instead of "friend" or "homie". But nevertheless, I've seen multiple people get shot over drugs, some friends, some strangers.
