One last question, if the person 0's themselves, do they lose the same amount of plunder as they would've if someone else 0'd them?
I just realised Hansel can pin themselves infinitely on opponent. They keep their spy lvl high to do some nasty jobs.
"To clarify, this effect would occur whenever an opposing player causes a player to reach 0%. " If you zero yourself, you don't lose plunder.
If their spies is greater than 0, they are not pinned. Let me know if I'm confused about what you're trying to say.
kaw are you going to change all mechanics? Cause my #1 beef with current system is that stealing and pure spies do not need allies. If you want to change mechanics I'd suggest going to a system where spying also needs allies to be completely effective. That is, that spying actions should have to mirror attack actions. Going toe to toe in osw with pure spy sucks big time.
@kaw Can changes be made to hansel type builds so that if they pin troops and keep spies high they can still be attacked or stolen from. Similar to attack build mechanics ?
I just had a thought, if you were the one to take yourself to 0 you would not be "downed" right? So you could go back to 0 on your regen and keep doing that. If executed correctly you get the turtle war, very hard to do but possible. Another thing if say you keep your spies 0 the whole war by scouting the the other side, then someone omes along and attacks you a few times and your troops get 0 too would that could as being "downed" and the other clan get the point for "downing" you?
All these changes are necessary (and awesome!) but I believe the number one problem with the war system is the risk/reward dynamic. Wars tear through a massive amount of a kingdoms' assets. I just hope beyond hope that this is fixed. If not, I fear that none of these changes will make a lasting difference. To all you that say "war is not about making money, it's about pride and being the best" (I've seen this said too many times other places) you are wrong! Everything is ALL about the money
@kaw_admin Using other clan members to pin yourself is an effective strategy in war. This was proved in the summer wars. If you aren't on for hours at a time, you become an infinite target. You would use your clan members to pin you so you wouldn't be hit. Problem solved. If I read right, you said you were disabling clan members from hitting each other. I ask you to please change this. Thank you for reading.
It's not as easy as it sounds. Based on the changes we are implementing, you have to hit the opposing clan's members. During this time, they are also able to hit you. It's going to come down to timing and a bit of luck to do what you are suggesting. As for the scouting example, yes, you will be put into stasis and you will lose plunder.
Estoc's Edge is what we will be using to balance the cost of war. We are aware of this problem as it stands in the game right now, and we will be taking steps to make sure wars become a viable and attractive activity for our players.
@Kaw_admins U mean hansel can have zero troop, high spy but not pinned? So as long as the spy lvl is high, the hansel can be hit infinitely without being dtw? Haha then once a hansel is "open", old or young, large or small, pretty or ugly, healthy or handicapped can just keep hitting him like an open pure spy. If then the hansel is closed, then the Hansel is completely useless? Same can happen to an attack build, but at least attack build with zero troop is still harder to hit than hansel. And they can just drain their spy into stasis since their spies r weak anyway.
I agree that it has been a viable strategy. However, that doesn't mean that there isn't something better for the majority of our players. Based on the community's feedback, we have reduced the duration of these wars to 12 hours. This would make it easier for those involved to stay active (versus a 24 hour war).
Ally Stripping during system war I think that the stripping of opponents allies should be disabled during a war. There is no defense to someone stripping allies and it greatly hampers smaller participants in war. Just a thought.
Ty Kaw admin! Some great steps in the right direction. Any comments on post war reporting though? Plunder earned
No, but you are encouraged to make constructive posts that can potentially improve the game moving forward. Thanks.
So i just need to clear the new dtw up. First off, would this be in all wars? Or just the estoc's edge or summer wars? (I do sincerely apologize if this was addressed. I dont recall reading it.) Second, im gonna throw an example at you and see if i understand. So a hansel joins the war full troops. He attacks till 10% troops/100% spies. (at this point, he can have all actions performed against him right?) Then he is attacked until 0 troops, and his spies are brought to 20%. (All spy actions can be performed against him correct?) He then steals till he is in full pin. (no plunder is lost, i read this earlier) He regens, and is then assassinated back to pin. (at which point he loses a % of plunder earned, and is out of commision till 25%?) Sorry for such a long post. Just making sure i understand what would be implemented.
One potential problem that was pointed out to me has to do with allies. If you are in a war and an ally gets bought, is there going to be a way to put yourself dtw for longer than your regen cycle? If not, this would be a stripper's dream
