Yes just start an alt and transfer it to iDevice.

You make the 1.58% of the hire value of what your ally was when someone hires them, for instance if I hire a 10B ally you'll earn 158M.

I would recommend a bit of both, that's what I do. Skim for most of it, and then when health gets very low, unload. However that's what i do, I'm sure they're will be others with different views

I seem to have a lot of allies who seem to be totally inactive . One is wort over 1 billion. Is there anything I can do or am I just stuck with them?

Gues - if they are 'Defeder too Weak' and are still hitting you, they are 'fighting under pin'. Wait till they are 15% troops to hit, or do quests and go under 10% troops and spies

Does your build affect how much you steal from an enemy in a strip, or is it always the same static number?

Same with attack build, but does relative size matter. (how much they lose, not how much you take)
