On March 4th, 2026 at 11 AM Pacific Time, we’re rolling out a major update to the Kingdom system designed to give you more flexibility in building your Kingdom and better overall rewards across the game. We’re sharing this early so you have time to plan ahead. Here’s what’s changing: BUILDING EXCHANGE UPDATE We’re replacing the ability to sell buildings with a new Building Exchange system. Instead of selling a building and rebuilding from scratch, you’ll now be able to directly exchange it for another building of the same level. HOW EXCHANGE WORKS Selling buildings will no longer be possible Instead, you can now Exchange your buildings The cost to exchange will be equal to the upgrade cost of that building’s current level Exchanges can be paid in Gold or Crestplates EXAMPLE Previously: Sell Lv. 10 Pallumen → rebuild → total cost: 54Q Gold or 375 Crestplates With exchanging: Swap Lv. 10 Pallumen for another Lv. 10 Pallumen → 19Q Gold or 95 Crestplates This reduces the cost of correcting or optimizing a build by roughly 65% in this example. What exchanging your buildings will look like. Special Cases: Lowlands & Highlands Some of these buildings there have different stat scaling and costs structures. Due to this: Exchanging will grant a Level 1 version You’ll receive a 20% discount based on the value of the building being exchanged This prevents cost/stat inconsistencies between structures with different upgrade curves. ⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE ⚠️ Once building exchange goes live on March 4th, selling buildings will no longer be an option, so please make any adjustments you wish before this update. CRESTPLATE UPDATESCrestplates were originally designed to help players catch up in kingdom progression. Over time, upgrading with Crestplates and selling buildings became a primary gold-generation method. That optimization worked but it distorted Crestplate distribution and limited how many we could safely award. With selling removed, Crestplates will no longer convert directly into large gold payouts. This allows us to significantly increase Crestplate distribution across active gameplay systems. WHAT'S INCREASING More Crestplates from EBs More Crestplates from Event Main Legends & Side Legends This shifts Crestplates back to their intended purpose: accelerating kingdom growth. GOLD UPDATES We understand that some players relied on Crestplate-selling for gold income. To ensure the economy stays strong and rewarding, we’re increasing gold rewards across multiple areas focused on active gameplay: WHAT'S IMPROVING 25%–50% Plunder increase across all EBs Silver & Gold Bar drops added to many EBs Reward updates to Event Legends, Leaderboards, and Competitions (adding thousands of Gold Bars per event) Across a full event cycle, total distributed gold will increase by quadrillions compared to prior structures. Gold will come more from participation and performance and less from sell-loops 🙌 WHY WE'RE MAKING THESE CHANGES We understand this is a significant set of changes arriving all at once. This update addresses some of our long-term goals: Reduce economic distortion from Crestplate conversion loops Make kingdom build optimization far less punishing Increase gold and progression rewards tied to active gameplay Improve long-term economy stability We’ll be closely monitoring the impact of these changes once they go live. As always, your feedback is incredibly important to us so we’ll be listening carefully to what’s working well and where further adjustments may be needed. Thank you for your continued feedback and passion for Kingdoms at War. We’re excited for you to experience this update on March 4th.
Let me be the first to say thank you! Thank you for once again bringing a change to the game no one asked for! Thank you for once again bringing a change to the game that doesn’t add value or improve the game! Seriously, keep it up! You might achieve your overall goal of destroying KaW. I’m pumped!
No one can afford lands now without spending big big $$$$ lol 50% on noth or goth is nothing. Boneheaded
Can you answer the question of, would you consider making lands cheaper as you have clearly stopped one of our main gold making incomes. Because taking this ability away. You are trying to force more supposed 12 year olds from doing premium epics that cost money to make gold to even try to grow? Seems kinda unfortunate.
Ngl I’m actually stoked about this. People need to realize that we need more plates in the game BAD. And this is the only way possible without making bigs even more untouchable. Yes land costs are still a concern, but devs mentioned 1,000s of gold bars per event. It may take me 2-3 months for a new land now BUT I’m okay with that completely if the rest of my buildings get upgraded too faster. Big support. Now can we talk about nerfing KOTT so more family clans can run it
No it's not. It's only good for bigs. 25% increase to their already ridiculous htr plunder but peasants get a mere 50% on goth? Which already pays 0. 50% of nothing is nothing lol. The only viable midgame land opening strategy was fs/pal plates. It's going to be literally impossible to save 20q for a land now. Off the 20T a day you make on goth. Good luck, see you in 1000 days. 1000s of gold bars? Maybe if it's per person, but they're speaking as if that's across the game lol.
Interesting update. I cannot understand the reason for update. So many have used this system for growth for years, why is it now a problem ? I think this is another way of forcing purchases which is a shame for many who have invested in you and the game over the years. No ASW because you had to out effort in and now taking the eb warrior purpose away 🤷
I’ll bite, how is this good for a mid to small account or even a brand new player? Guy above you says it will take longer to open lands, so I’m confused how you came to your conclusion. There is only one outcome that can change in regard to the ease of making gold. It will either remain the same, get easier or get more difficult. The devs didn’t address this but tried hard to make it seem like this is a good change and is required for the benefit of KaW. That, imo, makes me believe the purpose of this is to slow things down which translates to harder to grow.
It will take longer to get lands once it’s going to cost 5-10Q per land. You will still be able to make enough gold to unlock a lot of the fatesand and pall fairly quickly. So that, paired with increased crestplate drops will help smaller players. The people who won’t benefit from this are those who are working on the later tier lands, the time table ones
What about SK lands there is no plates for them so if I want to change a build I get nothing back? And have to rebuy?
"Across a full event cycle, total distributed gold will increase by quadrillions compared to prior structures. Gold will come more from participation and performance and less from sell-loops 🙌" Look I'm the first to call out dumb decisions and the like by ATA but a ton of yall are just whining without reading 😭 Gold accumulation will stay the same if not increase, its just being moved from plates to bars. Can you really not see how this is a huge boon for mid game? With plates tied to gold, they are limited on how many plates they can distribute as alt farms will just print quints. By moving the gold to bars, it allows for much higher flooding of plates to grow out of midgame faster and reach that lcbc gold gen. Admittedly I'm basing this off of their post. If it releases and we get 1q and five gold bars an event we can go back to whining but as it stands this looks like a huge buff to all accounts without exploding alt farms.
Imagine you come back to kaw after a year or two on March 5th after having an EE build last time you logged out, so you don't gave either the HF nor OR glitch troops. Permanently stuck on 18 attacks on htr instead of 26 on an account that could have 200% perm items, less steals per strip. Didn't even think of that lmao. Ee players can no longer decide whether they want gt or gs for a war and then get back for ebs. This is just so poorly thought out.
Convert gt/gs to tower -> convert back afterwards That said I did build a 2nd gt/gs in case I ever accidentally upgrade one and it can't go back
Oh true I guess you could do that for EE. Still doesn't help the poor sod permanently stuck unable to effectively plunder on the account he spend 1000s on in game already
