For those who aren't aware, battlefront II created a bit of controversy due to the expected costs associated with unlocking certain playable characters. The Belgian gaming commission is looking into video game business practices, and they want to classify any in-game purchases with a random element as gambling. About friggin time if you ask me, now if only America and Australia would follow suit, this nonsense will finally be dealt with.
UK has looked into this recently and only consider it gambling if 'winnings' can be converted back to RL currency.
In game/app purchases will prob never be illegal in the USA ...not for gambling reasons anyways. Really unless you can convert back to RL cash it's a ridiculous law.
