As a college student I often am told that “Capitalism is evil” or that “socialism is the work of the devil.” I thought, what a better place to bring the discussion besides KaW. I’m going to give you a definition of both. I want to see the opinions of you great/not so great people. Imitation Cheese has been gone for like 3 years so we never have RL Political discussions and I know we are all adults now so I figured some of you redneck conservatives and/or hippy liberals would love to argue with other internet people about this. Capitalism: an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state. Socialism: a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole. Go my friends. Have fun!
There has never been a pure execution of Capitalism... finding the right balance between a capitalistic based distribution of wealth while supporting some socialistic systems to support the common benefit.
Doesn’t matter. We have pushed the earth to literally over heat itself and will not take the radical measures needed to reverse what we created. We won’t be able to live on the earth in about ~100-200 years and at the point the only government that will matter will be the hyper rich ~.01 that made it off this god forsaken planet and miraculously carry on the human story. The only reason capitalism didnt fall long ago is because of slave labour in other countries providing cheap products
Conservative: you are given 1/2 cup a day after milking the cows for 8 hours, never earning enough to get your own cow while the farmer throws away the excess he has and can't sell . Get it right
I’ll re-ask it So would that be capitalism run by the Democrat party ? Because that’s how they keep screwing it up.
Some of you seem to think Capitalism is a specifically conservative idea which is the only reason you dislike it. Can you give stats as to why Capitalism is so bad? The same to Socialism. Why is it so bad? Is there a way to balance the two and would that be beneficial or successful?
