Socialism vs Capitalism

  1. Socialism Takes, Capitalism Makes

  2. A dictatorship is the only true way of running things

  3. Capitalism is fighting for scraps, every bite extra you take causes someone else to starve, those who are on the top standing on the backs of those they bested on the way up , climbing over eachother for an "American dream" that is not much more than myth now.

  4. All you commie scum need some Pinochet in your lives.

  5. Current economic capitalism will still work. With the advancement of ei. Now more and more are automated. The more the industries automated population will have less work. My best guess in the future socialism is going to be the norm. Population more time to educate themselves. Let’s just hope the transition is smooth.

  6. I’m just curious if you’ve ever lived or visited (more than 30 days) any of the following socialists states?

    China
    Cuba
    Laos
    Vietnam

  7. Not true. If everything is automated then a huge industry will be created for the development, research and maintenance of such devices. Factory Jobs are going to end. Industry/Agriculture will end. I don't think you can program devices to harvest food(fish/livestock) effectively so that will remain. But those Jobs have been declining for years. Where on Job ends, another begins. As for overpopulation resulting in a lack of jobs, that isn't capitalism's fault.

Free market economies will always drive change. I.e. Captalism is the very reason we have healthcare provided by some Jobs in the U.S. If a company wants the best workers they will pay the best or offer the best benefits.
Theoretically socialism is decent. In terms of practical application, that's a no from me dawg ( randy from America idol. Lol)

  8. Lets not forget Germany(3rd Reich)! They were socialist too

  9. I dont have too when socialism in my country has made yours 3rd world in comparison.

  10. Which region do you live in, if that is allowed to be asked, and or you answer?

  11. Grave always did hit me as a chinese communist tbh

  12. No... they weren't at all.

  13. The average Canadian pays 42.5% of their personal income in taxes(that is state, provincial, and the Canadian form of Social Security combined).

The average American pays around 24% of their personal income in taxes. (Both studies according to MSN studies in late 2016).

Canadians tend to be okay with higher taxation in return for benefits like health care while Americans tend to be opposed to high taxes and prefer to use the money for their own use.

Socialism is a funny thing to me. People say “we get free this” or “we get free that” but really you aren’t getting anything for free. You pay for it with nearly half of your yearly income in an economy where your dollar doesn’t hold much value in comparison to other countries dollars or pounds. (Even the one who is claimed to be a basically third world country)

Capitalism tends to have a more straightforward approach. Work hard, make money, spend money. It’s a simple cycle and more of an economic philosophy.

Socialism tends to become both an economic and political philosophy which can be helpful but also dangerous (even according to the definitions in major dictionaries). Most communist countries started out having a socialistic economic philosophy. Old Germany, modern and old Russia, and modern day Venezuela to name a few.

Both have ups and downs, pros and cons. However, to just start saying things without any stats to back up claims is pretty ridiculous. I mean no disrespect to your opinions, but currently they stand just as opinions.

  14. So instead of listening to other people like your OP states, you just want to throw your own narrative around like it’s fact? I mean, don’t get me wrong, there are pros and cons to both capitalism and socialism, but you say no disrespect to their opinions yet you are just dismissing other information and wanting only yours to stick. Did I get that right?

  15. So Grave, you’ve never lived in a socialist state nor, by your own admission, visited one either. But you believe you live in one?

My guess is you live in a state with many social programs, but the truth of the matter is, it relies heavily on free market principles, or for the sake of the discussion, capitalism. Through heavy taxation of those who are participating in the free market system, your country is able to deliver the socialist programs you enjoy.

And just to be clear, the world uses my country’s currency as its reserve. For a third world country, in comparison to yours, I’d say we’re doing alright.

    Make sense eh?

  16. Would you rather be a Borg or a feringue ?

  17. Please Bella, I can think of you doing the exact thing you’re calling Nate out on in at least one thread about the scary assault riffles.

So do us a favor and quit calling the tea kettle black little miss pot...

  18. You mean that same thread that Ella smashed you on? Alright, by all means, quote where I said my narrative is right from that thread. You can’t because it’s not there. I never said that. I never did that, either. I offered my opinion as just that, an opinion. Stop throwing fallacy around like it’s a beach ball.

  19. @Bella

I’m not being disrespectful. I’m presenting statistical facts and asking them to do the same. If reading is hard for you, I encourage you to stop stop posting in the forums. I simply presented facts and wasn’t disrespected in any form. Now, I was listening. That doesn’t mean I’m not entitled to my own opinion and even commented on some comments people made. If the people I gave stats to would have been more respectful and not called my home country “basically a third world country” and other more discreet bias insults towards capitalist Americans, I wouldn’t have posted stats and discussed my opinion on the matter.

See the difference between us is I know how to keep a thread alive. It’s the OP’s job to make sure things keep moving in the right direction. Come back when you learn that.

    Also this...

  20. I'd rather totalitarianism of the world with me being Supreme Dictator of course *moonface*
