    Smaller Estoc Trials War Sizes
    To help create better match ups, we are going to go with a smaller war size restriction for our first war only this week. For War #1, the war size restriction will be for clans of sizes between 40 and 60. Based on your feedback to this, we will adjust the other wars accordingly.

    Defence Building Mechanic Adjustments
    The Defence Building mechanics that are in the game right now were put into place to combat certain undesired behaviours in the game. However, players have started to use this to their advantage inside and outside of Estoc Trials. While we encourage a diversity in play styles and builds, these advantages were too powerful and created a play style that was not healthy for the game in general. To combat this, we are doing the following:

    * While in Estoc Trials, special rules will no longer be in place for players with a large number of defensive buildings. Previous conditions that would stop attacks or steals from going through will no longer be enforced.

    * Outside of Estoc Trials, you will now need a significantly higher number of defensive buildings before the special rules are triggered.

    * Until the end of the week (12:00am PST Monday), all defensive buildilngs will sell for their original price. During that time, defensive buildings cannot be purchased. This will allow affected players to adjust their build appropriately. This is a one time adjustment and after this week, this will no longer be available.

    Signup: 6 hours prior to War Start Time
    Duration: 4 hours
    Matchmaking: 2 hours prior to War Start Time (Must sign up before this, rosters lock at this point)
    Activity Lock: Approximately 1 hour prior to the earliest War Start Time
    Start Time: This can vary up to 15 minutes. This will be reflected in your war timer.

    Estoc Trials FAQ

    Q: Matchups are not fair/balanced/equal!
    A: We try our best to create the best possible matchups, taking into account everyone that signs up. Due to the # of signups we have, it's impossible to create a perfect matchup for everyone. We are looking into some possible solutions for this, one of which is to adjust the minimum and maximum clan sizes.

    Q: The lag is horrible and it is causing us to lose the war!
    A: This is a complex issue, and hopefully this explanation will put to rest some of the questions that have been brought up. A common situation where a delay in processing actions happens when one player receives many incoming actions. The player that is receiving this action will most likely experience the "spinner" for several seconds when they try to do an action themselves. At the end of this, they will receive a notice that says that they were knocked out. This is a point of frustration for many as they feel that if the spinner had not come up, they would be knocked out. While our servers may take a few seconds to resolve all of the actions (it can be easily over 20 at once), we do record when we receive each action and the action that was triggered first will receive the Knock Out. Chances are, if you had 9 incoming actions and you tried to attack, you chances of being the first action is ~10%. To reiterate, while it may take our servers some time to determine the results, the results are fair and the first action that was performed will go through. Now, we are doing what we can to reduce the amount of waiting time players experience, and have been upgrading our hardware to accommodate for the number of actions that occur during Estoc Trials.

    Q: Will the war times change week to week?
    A: The war schedule we have right now is fixed until further notice. If we are to change war times, we will provide as much advance notice as possible for clans to prepare. Until that happens, assume that times for wars will be the same every week.

    The special rules that the dev mentioned were:
    Before if you had 20+ towers of any kind you gained the superpower of being DTW to attack and steals when you had no gold out or if your spies were pinned you were DTW to attacks even at full troops and with gold out.

    Towers no longer create a DTW dymanic under these conditions.


    After the 100% refund period expires you will be able to purchase towers again just like before

  9. No the Tower Build (Hax0r build) will no longer have its super powers is all.

    Towers will still exist as always but will function only as they should - as towers.

    Before if you had 20+ towers of any kind you gained the superpower of being DTW to attack and steals when you had no gold out or if your spies were pinned you were DTW to attacks even at full troops and with gold out.

    Being able to have full troops and not be attacked was an extreme unfair advantage for tower builds in system wars.

    Being able to have no gold out and be immortal to everything but assassins and scouts extreme unfair advantage for tower builds in Off System wars.
     
  10. Maybe a limit of 30-60 is better for war 1. I think a lot of smaller war clans will struggle to get 40 together in a day.
     
  11. How about the cost of buildings that we demolished just to convert it to tower? Will that be refunded as well? I'm very disappointed that Devs implemented a new set of game mechanics without giving us notice in advance.

    The concerns for Tower Builds was raised a long ago but since Devs didnt take immediate action a lot of players have now converted into one.

    You mean the gold you spent to cheat an exploit and use it to your advantage?

    IMO you should be thankful the devs are giving compensation on the towers themselves. Please don't be that guy.
     

  15. Your choice to destroy buildings to jump on the hax wagon was a risk you took assuming ATA was not going to look into it. Also, changes can't occur overnight, they have to be tested to avoid creating new exploits. Allowing higher compensation for the towers is already more than generous..

    No, its not because when offline a hansel can be dtripped easily like any other build. The tower build typically encompases a high spy defence tower count meaning even full build hansel or pure spies can only hit a few times with a success before they start to fail from the spy defence that doesnt change.

    recap, fact they can scout/assassinate to get taken down. doesnt make op, difficulty to strip does.

    Could someone explain what this clause really mean? What adjustments do we have to make? Do you mean there's no more defensive buildings? And do you mean we only have this week to sell all defensive buildings to adjust the builds? What about the hansel that only allows scout? Will this be affected too? Someone please clarify??
     
  19. the build adjustment is for those who changed builds to use the tower exploit. It gives them an opportunity (temporarily) to get back compensation for the their towers. After that time period you will be able to purchase defensive buildings like before.
