    A brief storyline

    On the world of Kingdoms At War, a huge event is being organized. Up above the great green hills, stands a wise, old wizard. He would bestow any warrior of a chosen team. Rumours spread around the kingdoms that this could possibly be the best Player versus Player event. Up until now, all the past events were common, that some were too common. This one, however could put warriors into interest, forming their new perspectives of fighting and a near complete mechanism revamp for a new way to achieve victory and glory!
    This PvP event will last for 7 days.
    The four new teams that is now created and open for new warriors to join are as follows:

    Red Swordsmen

    Green Archers

    Blue Spearmen

    Yellow Magicians


    PvP Spell Opt-In



    To opt-in into the event, players will need to purchase the Hat of Fate from the Marketplace. There, they will be randomly chosen to represent one of the four teams.
    Warning: Opting-in lasts for the ENTIRE PVP EVENT and there will be no way to opt-out after doing so.

    Opted in players will:
    • Have their name colored either maroon, dark green, Cyan or Yellow in respect to the chosen team to indicate their participation
    • Have a spell indicating their participation on their profile
    • Have their Battle List updated to show only players who have opted-in
    For example, a player who purchased the Hat of Fate gets chosen into the team Red Swordsmen, so the name of the spell given will be ‘Red Swordsmen: Opt-in to PvP’.

    Team Information



    After being opted in to a chosen team, each of the four teams HAVE their own unique passive abilities to aid the players, and that will be shown by the spell itself.

    Red Swordsmen

    Attacks 30% faster on a single action (this goes by increasing all other opted in team's attack loading time by 30%, and does 5-10% more army casualty count of the defender upon each successful attack depending on the attacker’s strength versus the defender’s strength.

    To explain: All other teams will have their attacking loading time increased by 30% before an action is made. When any action is successful, the defender will ALSO lose 5-10% more soldier or spy count depending on the type of action, attacked by any player of the Red Swordsman.

    (e.g. Red Swordsman will take 100% loading time before an action is complete, while all other teams take 130% loading time, as suggested by MrX)

    Green Archers


    Has a 20% chance to do 180% more army/spy casualty to the defender.

    This means that, any player representing the Green Archers will have a 20% chance to make the defender lose 180% more troop/spy count per successful action landed.
    (e.g the defender used to lose 1,000 soldiers. Now, if the 20% chance is landed, the defender will lose 2,800 soldiers instead of 1,000 in this single action. Same goes for all other actions, if an assassinate is successful with the 20% chance in luck, the defender will lose 180% more spies and troops.) THIS ONLY WORKS IN SUCCESSFUL ATTACKS. FAILED ATTACKS DO NOT WORK.

    Blue Spearmen

    Has 40% chance to completely block a successful defense, and blocks every tenth action hit taken.

    In addition, for every 10th successful defence action a debuff spell will be placed against the last attacker doing 50% less troop/spy damage AND cut their plunder and Silver Sword Coin yield by half for all actions for 1 hour.

    This means that the players representing Blue Spearmens will have 40% chance, upon defending an action from another player, to lose 25-50% lesser troops and spies in that action. In every tenth hit, regardless of success or failure on the action landed against a Blue Spearmen they will lose zero troops, spies AND gold.

    Yellow Magicians


    Will have a passive buff to increase their gold plunder AND Silver Sword Coin yield by 50%, making it to 150% AND will also make the defender lose twice the amount of items as much.
    (e.g. normal action plunders 100m gold and 50 items and the defender loses 4 items, any player who joins the Yellow Magicians will plunder 150m gold and 75 items per hit, and the defender loses 8 items.)
    This spell IS STACKABLE with ALL other PvP spells.

    Silver Sword Coin





    Once opted-in, players will earn Silver Sword Coins by attacking other opted-in players. These items are both generated AND ARE STOLEN. The number generated depends on the players size. The number stolen depends on the amount of Silver Sword Coins they currently have. The higher the number they have the more you'll steal.

    Every 500 Silver Sword Coins you collect will transform into a Silver Sword Coin Box. This item cannot be stolen and is what is ultimately used to determine your rewards.

    [title2]Golden Blade[/title2]

    When you attack or steal from another player, there's also the chance of activating the Golden Blade spell. This spell lasts for 24 hours, and has the following properties:
    • Provides you with more plunder when attacking or stealing from other players
      (This does not take effect during wars)
    • Allows you to steal more Silver Sword Coins when attacking or stealing from other players
    • Provides you with a chance of creating Mithril out of thin air when attacking or stealing from other players
    • Will be visible on your profile as an active spell.
    • CAN BE STOLEN when you are attacked or stolen from by other players. If stolen you will lose the spell, and the attacking player will receive it. Duration is not reset when stolen but continues to count down from where it was for the previous owner.

    Note: You cannot steal another player's Golden Blade spell when you have an active Golden Blade spell yourself.

    [title2]Trumpet Of Courage + Allied Morale[/title2]

    Trumpet Of Courage can be purchased in the Marketplace for 20 Nobility Points and casts the Allied Morale spell on ALL of your current clan members. If you already have an Allied Morale Spell active you will not be able to purchase it until the current spell expires.

    This spell lasts for 1 hour and has the following properties:
    • Provides you with more plunder when attacking or stealing from other players
      (This is able to stack with the Golden Blade spell)
    • Allows you to steal more Silver Sword Coins when attacking or stealing from other players
      (This is able to stack with the Golden Blade spell)
    • Prevents other players from being able to steal your Golden Blade spell while Allied Morale is active
    • Will be visible on your profile as an active spell

    How will this event go?



    This event will not just put in the standard PvP items into place, but in addition there will also be a point system to calculate the team’s accumulated efforts, since this will be a team-based event.

    The Modifiers



    Players will be rewarded points to the following, AS LONG as they are attacking any opted in player from a different team. This point system will be awarded regardless of the build size difference.

    2 points per successful attack.
    3 points per successful steal
    2 points per successful assassinations
    1 points per successful scout.

    Event Log


    A new log will appear apart from the World, Clan and Allies Chat for opted-in players as a new feature. Players cannot chat in the event log, however will be able to see how the teams are performing. Standard actions will reveal the points given in the event log but the usernames anonymous, UNLESS it is a KO/SKO. Upon completing an action, it will be immediately sent to the Event Log thus making it on live. For example:

    **UPDATE** Green Archers scored 2 points! (7 secs ago)
    **UPDATE** Green Archers scored 3 points! (7 secs ago)
    **UPDATE** Red Swordsmen scored 1 point! (6 secs ago)
    **UPDATE** Red Swordsmen lost 2 points! (5 secs ago)
    **UPDATE** Blue Spearmen scored 3 points! (5 secs ago)
    **UPDATE** Player145 has been knocked down by Player843, losing 10 points of their score. (Just now)
    **UPDATE** Blue Spearmen scored 10 points! (Just Now)
    **UPDATE** Yellow Magicians lost 5 points! (Just Now)

    In that case, 4 standard actions were executed successfully with 1 action of a player from Red Swordsmen attacking another player of Red Swordsmen(same team thus losing 2 points). Following that, it is done by a player from Blue Spearmen K.O’ing a player from Yellow Magicians. Once the KO is done, three messages of updates will be shown immediately as above to the event log live available for everyone to read.

    WARNING: By opting in to this event, you will still be open to attacks regardless whether you are below 20% spies or troops. The K.O system will also be implemented in the following:

    When an attacker successfully brings down the defender’s troops to zero, 5 additional points will be awarded to the attacker.

    When an attacker successfully brings down the defender’s spies to zero, 5 additional points will be awarded to the attacker.

    When an attacker successfully brings down the defender’s troops AND spies to zero, 10 additional points will be awarded and the defending player will lose 10 points as a result. If the defender self-knock out, they will only lose 1 point and no points will be given to the attacker. This KO/SKO mechanic will be shown in the world chat as an update in an example.
    **UPDATE**

    Player145 has been knocked down by Player843, losing 10 points of their score.
    Once a player has been knocked out, they will be invulnerable for 15 minutes. During this period, they CANNOT attack. This follows the Classic type from Estoc Edge Wars.

    A player can, however, immediately come out of KO/Pin after being koed by using a Health Crystal.

    WARNING 2: DO NOT ATTACK players that are in the same team as yours. There will be consequences for doing so. You will lose 2 points for every action you land against a player who is your teammate, and if you bring down your teammate’s troops OR spies to zero, you and the defender will both lose 5 points. If you bring down your teammate’s troops AND spies to zero, the defender will lose 10 points and you will lose 30 points as a penalty for attacking your own teammate. You must be careful to know which player is either in by your side or in any other of the 3 teams.

    WARNING 3: EVEN IF your individual points collected in contribution for your team is 0, you can still pull down the team’s accumulated points, although you CANNOT have a value of your points contributed under 0. THAT is, if you attack players of your own team.

    For example: If you have 0 points and the team’s accumulated points is 4575, and you attack a player of your team the team’s accumulated points will go down to 4573, and an action will be shown in the Event log showing a team has lost 2 points, live. This however, doesn’t change your individual points collected unless you have at least 1 POINT.

    Rewards



    The rewards will be given in two separate categories. One is Team Category and the other one is the Silver Coin Box category.

    The PvP rewards for the Silver Coin Box category will be given separately, decided by the Developers.

    The equipment reward can be decided by the players in the community. How do you want the equipment to be like? Attack heavy? Defense heavy? Spy Heavy? Bring your voices on!

    Objectives of this event



    1: To put in a combination of both the old and new mechanics of Player versus Player in Kingdoms At War, giving players a new look and feel of the event.

    2: To serve as a deterrent to players who volunteer to be open farms for other players to exploit items. Note, any player who opted in and become an open farm representing Green Archers then this team will be in for a serious point deficit and will fall behind other teams, especially if players from the same team hit the open farm as they will lose points drastically. In the end of this event, I would anticipate that players who opted in to be open farms will do more harm to the players of a team than good, with the new team category rewards and system implemented. Essentially bringing out the old school PvP days.

    3: To provide reward incentives for the players both big and small sized builds, as the minimum reward tier will be 100 points will reward them with 100 silver bars.

    4: Once a player sko’s or ko’s another player, the username of the players will be revealed on the event log with the points given in live allowing other players to target the attacker as they wish, promoting competition in a fight to the win.

  6. I'll tell you right now. Your event rewards are WAY to high, your talking 33.75t for top ten dev will never go for that. Overall very interesting idea well thought out well put together. Support. I haven't PVPed in like 6 weeks cuz Pvp is so deluded and run by osf just like a pwar. This is actually (sort of osf will still be abused) a cure to the lack of Pvp.
     
  7. I'm thinking of this PvP event to be a 1-time thing in Kingdoms At War, where after this event happens it will never happen again, in terms of the mechs and the rewards being similar! I have noted your opinion though, let's hear it from more voices. If they say the rewards is indeed too high, I will consider cutting down the rewards!

    Also, I am very well aware of osfs and oafs. Should they do it again, it is expected that they will do more harm to the players than helping them in terms of aiming for team rewards for this time! Remember, you lose points if you attack an opted-in player of the same team! This applies to everyone, bigs, smalls and even osfs/oafs. No exception!

  10. Rewards too inflated for a recurring event however devs would never do so much work for a 1 week event. So scale down rewards for a weekly event template and Meh Gustah
     
  11. Great idea....best in a while and would defo participate but your rewards are a little too hopefull to say the least....you could quite easily half the top 100....50...10 rewards and still make it appealing

  14. The only problem I see is people using alts on other teams to attack the other players and take away points
     
  15. Part of the strategy, sounds legit, kaw becoming too stale, same stuff every time, more incentive to war when event not on would be cool.
     
  16. If their alts got chosen into other teams, then it shouldn't be a big problem. Alt hitting main or main hitting alt, only one of the 4 teams can win! And for the record, that's part of the strategy!

Interesting idea although the main issue I see is that as soon as you make different teams have different perks you create an inbalance which leads to a specific team being more popular or favorable. Perhaps have it so that the 4 team perks you have listed are classes which you can opt in for after being randomly assigned a team.
