  1. Well this is the story thread. This story is an old story that came before the time of all this Fam Fiction Forum. That meant using the Off Topic Forums lol. Anyway hope you enjoy the edited version wherein I fixed some mistakes. Please post your feedback on the feedback thread. Thanks and let the story unfold and be told.

  2. Journal 1: Entry 1: Don't Stop Believin

I stood with my other classmates. We were finally graduating and moving on to become the Protectors. Basically, we were going to war. Space war. You know with a whole nother alien race and all that. Well they had taught us about the situations of combat, how to handle our state-of-the-art weapons, learned how to operate our battlesuits, and best of all (this is sarcasm), we learned of our enemy. The Darx. According to the data on the SciPhloids© at the facility, they were a breed of differnet kinds of aliens who tried to destroy Earth. Luckily, the Protectors managed to push them back. Now it's time to take the war to their home. The Darx home planet, named Dai-Shal, had appeared next to Earth months ago. Presently, it's an all-out war between New Earth (us) and Dai-Shal. Now back to what's happening. They called out many people whom were the future Protectors. I looked over to Bastion. Bastion was my best friend, and we had known each other since 4th grade. I smiled at him. He gave me the thumbs up. Then the award giver called, "Bastion Hendroson." He walked over to the podium smiling with pride. I felt a nudge and saw Croluxian, my other best friend. He was a year older than me and was a graduate. He was my future squad commander. I couldn't wait. The announcer then said, "Rika Tsukikai." I looked toward the podium to see the girl of my dreams. When the whole education started, I had seen her and it was love at first sight. For me atleast, I didn't know if she liked me because I never had the guts to ask her out. Anyway, she was an ace-fighter. She was good at anything, she had even aced the enlistment exams. I barely made the cut. Me and Bastion I might add. Then came my moment, after three more people, I heard my name called. "Zaln Darsling." I smiled and walked calmy to the podium. I shook hands with my instructor and he congratulated me. I thanked him and walked down.

A few hours later, I returned to my bunker room. There, laying on my bed, was a battlesuit. This wasn't any ordinary battlesuit though, it was a VX9912 A.K.A. The Purger. It was the top of the line suit, equipped with the latest technology in battlesuit-kind. There was another on Bastion's bed too. Thing was, mine was totally black with lime green outlining and Bastion's was blood red with silver outlines. I walked over to mine, dumbstruck. There was a little iMem Pad on it that read, "Congrats Zaln on graduating. Hope you like it. -Croluxian."

Sweet! I had an awesome battlesuit from Croluxian. Seconds later, Bastion came in, looked at the item on his bed and looked at me and fainted. Okay... I don't think that was supposed to happen. I grabbed my iPhone 7GS. I called Croluxian and said, "Thanks dude for the awesome gifts, it's awesome. Oh an Bastion fainted." He said, "Thats great and all, but you two get ready in three hours, we've got an issue. And a mission. Bye, I have some serious business to get done, take care!" And then he abrutly hung up.

"Wow," I said to myself outloud, "I've got a mission already. Then I looked towards Bastion and said, "Well it's time to wakey-wakey, we've got a mission."

  3. Journal 1: Entry 1: Don't Stop Believin-Part 2

I shook Bastion awake and he smiled and said, "We have Purgers! I can't believe it! Where are they from?"

I said, "Croluxian gave them to us as a gift. Now shut up and get the suit on, Croluxian needs us at the mission launch, we've got an issue and a mission!"

    "Whoa a mission already?!"

"Yes, now shut your trap and get ready."

    "Sweet! The suit is a-w-s-o-m-e!"

"You spelled 'awesome' wrong, you forget the 'e.'"

"Jeez, sorry Geek Lord Zaln." I kicked him.
     "Heyyyy! That hurt!"

"Shut up and get friggin ready!"

    "Sheesh."

Putting the suit on was rather easy. When we opened the cases that held them, they gave off a "hiss" sound. Coolio right? It gets better. I grabbed the helmet and put it on relativly easily. Instantly the built-in computer system kicked in and automatically scanned the surrounding area. It then said in a monotonous, robotic voice, "No threat detected."

Sweet a "threat detector." What more eh? Well the suit was easy since the armor was made of flurrex-steel which instantly adjusted to my body. Within a few minutes, I had my suit on. I looked toward Bastion. He had his helmet on, but was trying to stuff his foot in the arm armor. I "facepalmed" (if that's possible), or rather I "helmetpalmed." Ten minutes later, we were walking down toward the mission launch. As we made our way there, people stopped to stare at us, mouths hanging open. Bastion and I had managed to get the helmet chat to work and were speaking to each other and making fun about others, and they couldn't hear us. A few yards later, we were at the mission launch site. There were two others there. They were in different suit-models. They looked like the RKKT Standard. Instantaneously, a message asking if I would like to join the private conversation appeared on my helmet interface. I accepted and instantly I heard Croluxian's voice speak. He said, "Nice of you two to join us. Were going on a routine patrol of the Amazon Basin. More exactly, the Amazonian Rainforest. The terrain there is the closest we've got compared to the land of the Darx home planet. Please excuse me, I need to re-invite Bastion. Apparentally, he rejected the invite. Why dontcha guys take off your helmets and get to know each other? I'm pretty sure you know each other, after all, you all graduated at the sametime. I've gotta debrief Bastion."

I took my helmet off, as did the other two. I saw who it was, it was Colonial, another graduate. He was skilled in piloting and mechanisms. He was really good at enginneering too. The other person made my heart start beating ten times faster. It was Rika. I tried to stay cool. Colonial kicked off the conversation. "Hey, arentcha Rika and you're uhh..."

I said, "My names Zaln." "Oh yeah, err ya... Zaln... Uhh.. So what's with the, you know, suit?"

    "It was a gift."

Rika spoke up, "If you have a spiffy suit and all, then hope no one messes up this mission, got it?"

That got me and Colonial shut up. She looked at me, right in the eyes. I made a funny face. Then I got punched. Owwies. I saw Colonial laugh. He had punched me. Rika remained emotionless. The punch made me back up a few steps. I looked at Colonial. He sneered and said, "Gotta get better reflexes boy, these Darxes ain't slow like the sims (he meant simulations). Keep on your toes." Rika looked at Colonial and elbowed him in the jaw. Colonial stumbled backwards. I did my best to not laugh. Then Rika said, "You aren't too fast either. Remember, a blind can't lead another blind."

That was pretty cool. Then Croluxian turned toward us and said, "Don't kill yourselves. Now cmon, get on ship B-13." I stuck my helmet back on and turned to follow Croluxian who led the way.

  4. Journal 1: Entry 1: Don't Stop Believin-Part 3

We all walked over to ship B-13. It was a Grazer model, an older, but navigable ship. It looked like a silver arrow head. But not too big, like the size of a minivan. We all got in and strapped ourselves in. I sat in the back and Bastion sat next to me. At the cockpit was Croluxian. He smiled and said, "Just wait, it'll take less than thirty minutes."

Forty-five minutes later we stopped and Croluxian announced, "Well that was longer than I err- expected, but I ain't perfect, now get up and go to the lower left of the ship, I'll open the side door and you guys jump. You know routine."

Then he pushed a button on the dashboard and instantly the side door opened. I looked down and my helmet's built-in program calculated that we were 50 feet in the air. The screen then said to toggle the web-air if I was to jump and not get squashed. I toggled the switch. I heard Colonial say, "Cya guys, I'm jumping!" Then he jumped feet first. He started out falling at 12 MPH according to my helmet. Then he started slowing down. He slowed down so much that his feet just made a small "thud" when it reached the jungle floor. Then I jumped, an I heard the low hum of my web-air program coming it. Basically, the suit releases microscopic "hooks" that grab the atoms in the air, slowing the descent of the user. High-tech, right? I slowly reached the ground, my boots not making a sound. That's one of the advantages of this sweet suit, it had the latest tech around. Rika landed a few feet away. We all started to the small gray building which bore the Protector's insignia flag. I looked up and saw Croluxian kick Bastion out of the ship. Poor guy. He started falling headfirst. He started slowing down and he landed headfirst with a "thud." Then the rest of his body slowly hit the ground. He gave the thumbs up and scrambled to catch up with us. When we all got to the building, Croluxian shouted, "DON'T STOP BELIEVIN!!!!" I also heard him murmur about some guys being jackasses...

He waved and the side door closed. He sped away. Then two guys came out both holding two cybercases. One was a guy with dark brown hair, and was taller than the other. The other was shorter, and had blond hair. The dark haired guy spoke up, "Hey there guys, why don't ya guys take off ya helmets, we've gotta verify you're who were lookin for." All four of us took of our helmets. Then the blonde dropped his cybercases and took out a palm-sized piece of tech. It sent out four beams which scanned our faces. He looked over to his partner and said, "Thats em all right."

Then the brown haired guy went over to Rika and said, "Hel-lo good lookin! My name's Dash. Aren't I dashingly handsome? I don't see much pretty faces around here." He jerked his thumb at the blonde and casually said, "I've been stuck with ugly here. How bout we go on a date after this here's mission? Whaddya say, you can't turn down a guy like me right?"

Rika narrowed her eyes and said, "What if I have other interests?" She emphasized the "interests part. Yes!! I think I might have a chance. Then Dash said, "Well aren't I an interest? I'll assume that's a 'yes'?"

She said, "You aren't 'an interest,' I don't thing you'll ever be an interest."

Dash made a mortified face and started, "You ju..."

I cut in, "Hey Dosh boy, dontcha get the point, she doesn't like you, can't ya take a hit?"

He stared at me and said, "Hey boy, I don't think you've got a girlfriend, so if you think..."

Rika butted in, "How would you know that?" She had her hands on her hips.

Dash said, "Then who's this 'girl' of his? I doubt he could score anyone."

    I started, "Well I..."

Rika cut in again, "I'm his girlfriend, got it? Good, now get on with the debriefing."

Dash gave me and Rika a doubtful look and returned to the side of his friend. Then he barked, "Seth, debrief em!"

Seth, the blonde, nodded and stepped forward. "Listen up kids, all you've gotta do is make it up to the red building that's gonna show up on your helmets when we turn on the beacon. Simple? Now these..." He gave each one of us one of the suitcases.

Then Dash said, "Open em! Now!"

We all obeyed and found an R66-BeamPistol. I pulled it out and tested the weight. It seemed good enough. Seth then started, "We needed to determine a leader, so we randomized the guns and wh..." He was cut off by Bastion who screamed and threw down the gun. We all looked towards him. He said, "The gun's turning green!!!"

Dash and Seth rolled their eyes and Seth said, "As I was saying, we randomized the guns and the person who got the gun that turned glowed green was the team leader."

"Oh," was all Bastion said as he snatched up the gun.

Then Colonial inquired, "So what are the guns for, I thought this was an inspection."

Dash said, "Oh, just in case you run into the nasties." He sneered and said, "Good luck love-birds. And if your little Romeo dies, I'm still around."

I gave him a sharp looked and he shrugged and went inside the shack. Seth followed. We put our helmets on and a red arrow showed up on our screens telling which direction to head. We all started towards our target.

  5. Journal 1: Entry 2: Liars, Liars, Pants On Fire!

Well the arrows basically led the way we were supposed to head. Rika said that we were too slow and she would run on ahead. I guess she didn't want to discuss the arguement. Neither did I. So Bastion, our "amazing" teamleader, let her run ahead while we observed our surroundings. Then Colonial cracked the ice (as usual), "So you and Rika really ARE dating?"

Bastion added, "Yeah, why didn't you tell me? Aren't I your best bud?"

I said, "She said it, not me! I don't know what happened, I was just trying to get Dash to lay off, and she goes and says that."

"Oh realllllyyyyy," said Colonial amd Bastion in chorus.

Instantly, my threat alarm went off and it located a "threat" several yards away. We reached a clearing to see Rika fighting against some sixed-winged bat-like creatures. She was shooting, but to no real success. My helmet instantly recognized the creatures. They were Darx. I wondered what they were doing here. That didn't matter, I needed to help Rika. I told Colonial and Bastion to cover me as I tried to get Rika out of there. They nodded and drew their pistols. I drew mine and took out some of the monstrous bats nearby. These things were called Goema-Yeratus according to the Identification program. They were twice the size of the average bat, but died just as easily. Thing is, their claws could wreck havoc on one's armor. I shot some mutant bats surrounding Rika and tackled her behind some plants. I managed to smack most of the overgrown bats off Rika. They had an odd way of dying, they would just disappear. Eventually, we shot enough to make the rest flee. We all took a break. Rika then explained how the big bats had ambushed her. Luckily we had arrived early on into the battle and her armor was still intact, but it adorned some cuts. All in all, everyone was fine. I looked on the helmet screen and saw that we were close to our targeted area. We got up and walked about a mile or two and found another identical shack, similar to that of Dash's and Seth's. We knocked on the door and out came a young lady, maybe just around our age. She smiled and said, "Interesting you all passed the test and managed to defeat the Darx. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Nelle, I graduated last year. You all probably don't know me. According to this iD Pad, you, Rika Tsukikai, were injured the most because you separated yourself from the group."

I spoke up, "Well actually, you..."

"Shut up Zaln, I can explain," said Rika rudely.

I heard Bastion and Colonial say a quiet "Ooooooooh."

Hmph, how unappreciative. Then she explained how she went ahead and was ambushed. Nelle seemed half-surprised and said, "First of all, you must always work as a team, you cannot become separated from your group unless you wish to die. Secondly, you sound as if you thought these were real Darx, and according to your scores, why didn't you prepare precautions for the ambush." She gave Bastion an expectant look. She knew who was who and what their job was alright. He shrugged and said, "We didn't hear anything about fake Darx and ambush." She shot him a surprised look and said, "Damn, Seth and Dash have been slacking, they were supposed to warn you guys about this. Well you all did fine."

Colonial piped in saying, "So what's next?"

Nelle grinned and said, "I thought you'd never ask."

  6. Journal 1: Entry 2: Liars, Liars, Pants On Fire (Part 2)

She said, "The Protectors established a new base of ops on Dai-Shal and they need reinforcements. Quickly. I need the two highest scoring fighters in this test to go into the DeVab and return to the mission launch. That would be Rika and Zaln. Bastion and Colonial please come with me. I waved bye to Bastion, not knowing if I'll ever see him again. I followed Rika to the DeVab, a three seater ship that was located behind the shack. She got the pilots seat and I got the two backseats to relax and chill in. She started up ship and flew us out of this jungle. It seemed by her body language that she wasn't in the mood for socialization. I respected that. Partly, half of me wanted to ask if she wanted to got through with the girlfriend/boyfriend thing. I guess I didn't have the courage to bring it up.

  7. Journal 1: Entry 3: The School of Baby Fish

The ride back to the mission launchsite was uneventful... That is until we got there. There was a DS-33 "Whale" hovering over the whole campus/citadel. It bore the Resurrection Symbol (we are under the Resurrection Society). It was basically and overgrown zit-ship. But, this was the third strongest battleship on all of New Earth. You all are probably wondering what's New Earth. Right? Well after the Depression of the 21st Century, all the countries were in turnmoil. Some of the Baltic countries were causing rebellions all over. Then, out of the ruins of the US Government, rose the Resurrection. This "cult" managed to influence the whole world to become one and fix all these disasters. Thirty years later, they fixed everything and renamed Earth. Yes, they named it New Earth. We are led by Benny and his council of leaders. Now everyone's living in peace. Until the Darx invasion. Now New Earth's got guardians, the Protectors. Me basically. Well we went under the massive battleship and landed in the hangar. Croluxian was there to greet us. As we got out he said, "It seems you two were the best among the four of y'all. Interesting, well you guys are gonna go reinforce the troops on Dai-Shal. My eyes widened and before I could say anything, Rika said, "Are you sure were even ready?! We haven't even got a good enough idea. Why now already?!"

"Cmon," said Croluxian, "I've heard many say that. You're just gonna reinforce their numbers. Also, Storallelite and Raeki will join you. They are on the ship already, and they're waiting for a few more Protectors. Raeki and Stora are gonna make up the rest of your team since Bastion and Colonial are off training their reflexes. Now go! Ya'll got Room D34, your personal belongings are there. Now! Leave!"

Rika and I headed for the ship. She said, "We aren't adequatally prepared for this mission."

I said, "Relax, we can do this, they trust us."

    "Who trusts us, Zaln?"

I didn't have and exact answer so I said, "The people who need our assistance. Now quit being so paranoid. Remember, were Protectors, not wimps. Got it?"

Rika stopped looking and turned to face me. Oh crap, this wil hurt. She said, "I like your way, I think that's hot."

Then she pulled off her helmet and mine. She kissed me on the cheek and said, "Thats for saving me back there. Thanks."

I  managed to say, "Your welcome." I was turning all shades of red. Seriously! Well we put our helmets and headed towards the lazer shafts. These would send us up to the ship. It would turn our body into laser energy and sent us toward the DS-33. There were five set up. I stepped into one. Then I closed my eyes. A few seconds I reopened them.  I was in the ship. I saw Dash there. He stood there looking at me and said, "Hel-lo Romeo! Haha so you survived, I thought you'd all die."

I stepped out and said, "Why didn't you tell us about the Darx ambush?"

"I wanted to test your battling capabilities, and you reacted very well thus scoring very high and automatically enlisting you for this program."

Then Rika beamed up. She looked at Dash. Dash smiled and said, "Well if it ain't lil Juliet? When are you gonna loose this kid and come with me?" She said, "Never, I'll stick with him."

She then grabbed my arm and pulled me toward the hall. Dash called after us, "Remember, I'm always avaliable!"

Jeez this guy was annoying, he just can't stop. It seems my love life took a turn for the best. Sucks for you Dash. Aha, I love this job.

  8. Journal 1: Entry 3: The School of Baby Fish (Part 2)

Rika and I walked down the hall, and according to the imputed numbers, our room was close by. We stopped at door D34. We knocked and a pretty (not as pretty as Rika, but you know) girl opened the door. She said, "Oh you both must be Zaln and Rika. Welcome. Come inside and sit. We walked in. Well I felt as if I had walked into a small house. There was a guy sitting on the couch with his feet propped on the table. He said, "Yo, bout time you guys got here. Stora, show her the girl's side of the apartment. I'll show Zaln to our side."

As it turned out, there was two bedroom areas; one for the guys and one for the girls. Figures. He showed me to the room and the bathroom. He gave me a MagCard. He said I just wave it in front of the handle area and it'll open. I put it into my suit's hidden compartment. Raeki grinned and said, "Nice suit, that a Purger right?" I said, "Yeah."

"Nice, just make sure it ain't to complicated for you. Why don't take off the suit and put on the ClothFlex. Cya, there's something I've gotta tell you later."

I changed into my ClothFlex and put the armor in the provided armor space. I set a password and left to go talk to Raeki. Sitting on the couch were Rika and Stora. Raeki was getting some Cokes. At least some things don't change. Stora put a small square box on the table. Raeki then came and gave us each a Coke. Stora pushed down the small cube. Instantaneously, lights came out and we were in a HoloSetting. It showed Dai-Shal. Raeki said, "There are six smaller barracks on the outerlying boundries of our reach. We are assigned to Barrack 3. So they are going to drop all of us off at the Central Command Area. From there we'll head out towards Barrack 3. Got it?"

I responded, "Yeah. So how long till we get there?"

Raeki said, "In about 5 hours. You might wanna get some rest." With that, he touched the cube and the diagram disappeared. I headed back to the room. I needed some sleep.

  9. Journal 1: Entry 3: The School of Baby Fish (Part 3)

I woke up. Rudely I might add. Raeki was shaking me. I woke up with a groan. He grinned and said, "Get your suit on, were moving out."

I got up and changed into my battlesuit. I was groggy still. After putting on my suit, I walked towards the couched area. Rika and Stora were standing there, both in armor with their helmets in their arms. I saw that Stora's suit had dark blue streaks. It wasn't a standard suit. I recognized it; she had an Infiltrator suit. I raised an eyebrow and she said, "My specialty."

"Oh okay," I said, acting unsuprised. Truthfully, I was surprised because first of all, the Infiltrator armor was only given to advanced spies. Was it possible that Stora was that skilled?

    Then Stora added, "I'm a top-spy, don't underestimate me."

Crap she knew what I was thinking!

I said, "Uhh whatever you say..." Crap, were all hot chicks ace fighters or whatever? Damn. Then Raeki came in wearing an SJ-66. Now that was a-tank-in-one kind of suit. Like it had the best defense, but it was hard to manuever. Raeki said, "Yo Z, you ain't the only guy with the cool suits! Cmon, let's head to the laser shafts." We all left the room and headed down the hall. There were also various other people in battle-suits running up and down the halls. We reached the laser shafts and "beamed" down. You know, this reminds me of that cheesy TV show that had tech kinda something like this. It was really old, but I remembered this quote, "Beam me down Scotty." Ahh I loved seeing them do it with their "special effects."

We reached the hangar of the the Central Command Center. This was where we were gonna start. Instantly my helmet started to take in the surroundings. It noted the oxygen level, some hypo-thermal things and so forth.  I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned to see Croluxian followed by Dash and another guy. He said, "Seems you guys made it, good. Dash here is gonna lead your team, okay?"

I rolled my eyes, but no one else saw each other's facial expression due to the helmets. Cmon, Dash of all people?!  Jeez.

Dash said, "Haha looks like I'm stuck with Romeo and Juliet! Who are you two?" He asked, indicating Stora and Raeki.

They introduced themselves and Dash acted like it was nothing. "Whatever kids, but listen up, this ain't no walk in a jungle, there's real Darx, no holograms or second chances. Hit em with everything you've got! You all head over to firearmary over there and get some damn guns!"

We all started towards the firearm area. The man there said we could each pick any gun as long as we had the credits. I checked my credentials on my helmet system. I had 40,000 credits! Golly, was this from Croluxian too? I looked toward him. He waved and saluted me. Sweet! I could buy anything he had. There were several guns. I bought a laser rocket launcher for 10,000 credits, ten sonic grenades for 5,000 credits, and two mini machine laser guns for 15,000 credits. By the end of my shopping spree, I had 10,000 credits left. The dealer smiled and said, "Pleasure doing business, how about I throw in a bonus." He grabbed a small iBox and handed it to me with a wink. "Open it when you feel like it, consider it the beginning of a great you-pay-me-I-give-you-back-cool stuff partnership."

I saw Dash come over to us. He looked at the gadgets I bought and said, "Jet setter eh? Well those better help the mission you brat."

I nodded and looked at his armor. It complimented his name, as it was an Arcer-D40, the fastest suit available right now. I saw some slits near his wrist area. He noticed me looking and said, "Wanna see em?" He flicked a switch and instantly, a small blue laser blade which gave off a small hum appeared. I think everything hums. He said, "Watch it kid, or I'll slice you up into smithereens."

He then turned them off and went over the bench and sat. I ran over back to the dealer. Everyone had bought some sort of weapon, Stora got a laser dart thing; Raeki bought a laser flail; and Rika bought a laser rifle. The dealer said, "Back already?" I asked about a certain upgrade. The dealer smiled and had me give him my gautlets.

Ten minutes later, we were ready to roll, and I had no credits on hand, I just spent the rest. Dash looked at me and sighed. We headed to our vehicle, they were called D-1-75s. Basically, think of one of those old Chevy trucks that go on wheels (most cars now hover). Well take out the bottom part and change that to a greenish circle. When activated, it would make the vehicle hover. There were also two turrents mounted in the back. These were common. Also, the cockpit could hold four people. As we got to ours, Dash decided he would be driver. Raeki and Rika claimed the turrents. I was stuck in the cockpit with Dash and Stora.

    Oh well.

Dash looked over and said to Rika, "Hope you don't get hurt," and went inside the driver's side (the left side). Stora called shotgun and I got stuck in the back row... Again. Aww jeez!

  10. Journal 1: Entry 3: The School of Baby Fish (Part 4)

Well the trip was boring enough. It was just the steady hum of the iHover device that let me know I was alive. Suddenly, I heard lasers being shot, the turrents to be exact. Their distinct "PEW, PEW," gave it away. Then there was a "THUD" and our vehicle started to stop hovering and started rolling. We were thrown around. Then the vehicle came to a stop. The three of us inside were fine, but I was worried about Rika and Raeki, they had been on the back manning the turrents. I broke the door open and climbed out. I saw Rika and Raeki fighting an alien creature. My built-in computer unit in my helmet identified the Darx. It was a Devamorra-Dedidjuos. I knew this species from our classes. They were called DD Kongs because of their massive muscular body and their nearly impenetrable hide. Rika was shooting at the Darx with her laser rifle and Raeki was swinging his laser flail. Dash was out and I saw that he turned on his suit's speed vibrators and sped toward the Darx. He had his laser blades on and ready. I took out my laser rocket launcher and sent two laser torpedos speeding towards the Darx.

"BOOM!!" Yes, direct hit! This gave Rika and Raeki enough time to get back with us. Stora was nowhere in sight. Dash had slowed down and was next to us. Then out of the smoke that the missiles had caused, leapt out DD Kong. Oh did I mention he looked very, very pissed?

  11. Journal 1: Entry 4: Paradise With Death

Well DD Kong came charging at us. All of us scattered, and moved to safety. It stopped and picked up our way of transportation. It looked around for someone to throw it at. It never threw it though, as it was holding up the vehicle, there was a "ZEERM" sound and the Darx fell with a thud. It died. We were all dumbstruck. Stora then appeared out of thin air next to the corpse. Of course, she had used her suit's ability to get close to the Darx and kill it by shooting it's spinal nerve. Dash said, "Impressive, but it's gonna be hard to reach the Barrack-3. Also, it won't be safe to stay here over night. Other Darxes will come and find their dead companion. Then we'll join this Darx. Cmon let's move out."

He started at a jog. Our suits helped with their built in joints which helped us run nonstop. Well nearly nonstop because we had to relieve ourselves time to time. By late afternoon, we had reached Barack-3. Atleast where Barack-3 was. There was originally a mid-sized building... Now it was a bunch of ruins. It was what was left of Barack-3. On the ground was a torn flag. It used to hold up the insignia of the Protectors. Now it was all faded and torn as I said earlier. Dash was cussing. Rika went over closer to the Barack to look for evidence. She called all of us over. There, among the rubble was the body of a Protector. A dead one because my helmet would've detected his thermal body heat. Raeki looked away. Dash went over and grabbed a small card from the guy's belt. He read the name outloud, "Daniel Fredderson. Any of you guys know him?"

We all shook our heads which meant a solemn "no." I then noticed a small rectangular object in the dude's hand. Raeki went around to look for anymore corpses or evidence.

He said, "Found two more bodies. Anyone know Sonia Loreson?"

We all responded with either "nope" or "no." Then Raeki said, "What about Dalton Denari?"

Dash spoke up, "Damn. I knew him. He went to PC (Protector Centre [it's the name of our training center]). He was a witty fellow. Crap, I never thought he'd die easily."

Stora said, "We don't know how they died, so don't add coments."

I pried the small rectangular box from Daniel's hand. I instantly recognized it as a recording device.

I said, "Hey guys, I found this iRecord device. I think this might answer some of our questions."

Everyone came closer so they could hear what was playing. I pressed the play button. Then it started, "My... My name is Daniel, Daniel Fredderson! We, our, there are Darx attacking!" There was a short pause in Daniel's voice as  there was an earth-deafining "CRACK." Daniel continued, "Ahh, they entered the barrack! They, they killed Sonia!!! They killed her!" There was a crashing sound. "Oh my, oh no, not, no not Dalton too! Ahh it's, they are coming for me!!!! Ahh help someone!!!!" There was the sound of lasers. "PEW! PEW!" "Die you, you freaks!" Then there was a clatter. "Ahhhh noo don't, no please no!!!" There was a crack. Then another clattering sound. In the background came a voice. It said, "Get out, we've completed the mission. Bring it down."

Then the recording ended. I felt sick. Everyone was stunned. Stora went over to Daniel's body and flipped it over. There was a dent, like a gigantic hand had strangled him. At least we knew how Daniel died. His spine was broken.

Dash said, "I heard a human voice there, I know it."

I said, "Yes, I heard it too."

Raeki said, "Our kind workin with the Darx? No, now way!"

Rika said, "It seems so though. So what are we gonna do now? It's already getting darker."

I looked up. Damn, it was getting pretty dark.

We didn't have anywhere to rest. We were supposed to stay in the barrack, but seeing the condition, it was impossible. So Dash said, "All of y'all take the caferiod gas, we'll have to pull an all-nighter."

I instantly commanded my helmet's computer system to release the gas. It did and I smelt the damp, cinnamon-like gas take affect. Quickly my body weakened, then jolted up straight. It was working. After we had all taken it, we decided to sit close in a circular formation to have eyes everywhere. Our weapons were poised for action in our hands, ready to destroy what must be destroyed. Or whatever tried to destroy us.

We saw the sun come into view. We all got up. Our muscles were stiff and we needed a stretch. All of us were starting to feel the after-effects. Sleepiness. Well Dash said, "When you're all ready, were gonna run it back to Central Command, got it? We were lucky nothin decided to attack us last night, but remember, Darx attack whenever and wherever."

Then we all started at a jog.

Hours later, we reached Central Command. We were all starving, it was way past lunchtime and we hadn't eaten anything. As we drew closer, there was a small spherical device that came over. It scanned us, probably doing patrol, and then left. A few moments later, a dude on a Deesk, a small hovering thing with handles, came over. A Deesk is like a hovering SegWay, you know, the two wheeler stand-on scooters? I recognized him. It was Seth. He said, "I thought you were supposed to be at one of the outerlying barracks?"

Dash said, "Barrack-3 doesn't exist anymore."

Seth said, "Then Colonel should hear this. Cmon follow me."

As he started ahead with his Deesk, we jogged behind him.

  13. Wow sorry to say but I am not reading all of that

  14. Journal 1: Entry 4: Paradise with Death (Part 3)

We reached the laser-induced, quad-reinforced entrance. There were four guards. Also, there was a laser-cam pointed at us. Instantly, a small silver oval demanded data cards. I fished mine out of my belt and the silver dome thing scanned it. It turned bright yellow and then reverted back to silver. That meant I was clear. As soon as the others were done we were led into a restricted air tunnel. These launched air-coordinated jets of oxygen which blasted us just the right height and blast us into the selected level at the right moment. Sweet or what? We took a ride to floor... Odd, this floor wasn't labeled. Seth saluted us and stepped back into the air tunnel. It was illegal to pass any further without proper reasoning. Two burly men in Defender Battlesuits led us down the hall. After walking for about five minutes, we were escorted into a room. There, at a desk sat Colonel Robijoe. He looked up and said, "Welcome, what is the problem soldiers?"

Dash stepped up, being team leader, and told what we had encountered. The Colonel had a hard, stiff look on, and he was surprised at a majority of the story.

Finally, Colonel Robijoe said, "Hmm, so it seems the Darx have made their intentions oblivious, they plan to recapture this territory..."

Just at that moment, the HoloScreen behind Robijoe flickered to life. Instantly, Lord Benny, leader of New Earth appeared.

He said, "Colonel Robijoe, I hope I haven't interrupted something."

Instantly, we all kneeled and bowed our heads toward Benny. It was the custom. Robijoe was also kneeling and said, "This team just informed me of a Darx attack within our boundaries and a destroyed barrack. Evidence told them that it was a Darx assault."

Then Benny said, "Rise. All of you. I have decided to make that squad, and their presiding squad leader (Croluxian, Dash was our mission commander, not squad leader. Dash is part of the squad though.) under my private squadron. Is that understandable squad?"

Robijoe spoke up as he rose, "Sir, two of their squad members are under extra training and two are replacements."

Benny said, "All of them, even the replacemets shall be my new private squadron. Understood? I have decided to join the battlefield."

    Robijoe said, "Yessir."

Benny said, "Good, I must prepare the SRTT."

Then the HoloScreen shut off. Sweet, we are now a private squad of Benny!
