The morning sun looked upon me, stirring me in my sleep. Wanting to go back to sleep, I closed my eyes, and suddenly was jolted awake by a loud roar. Jeez, dragons have to make every morning dramatic. "Stupid dragon!" I yelled into the distance. My remark is followed by an angry roar. Not wanting to be found, I quickly set off in the forest of Kagan. Sorry, I haven't properly introduced myself. I am Kellen, prince of the the kingdom of Faal. I've recently been driven out of the kingdom, because my father doesn't want me to succeed him as king. I'm not an only child, or I wasn't an only child, because my father killed my siblings. Oh, and he killed my mom too. I heard a sudden growl and I was brought back to reality. Awww crap, it was the dragon! I quickly took out my choice of weapon. A giant longbow. The dragon was only about ten yards off, but it had noticed me. The dragon was a strange hue of blue, and was missing an eye, probably from a fight with another dragon. I quickly took out an arrow and shot its other eye. Turns out that wasn't the smartest move. Instantly angered, the dragon spouted fire every where. There was only enough time to duck behind a nearby tree. A couple of crispy birds fell out of the tree I was hiding behind. "I'll eat those later," I told myself. if there was a later. There was only one option. So I ran as fast as I could go, out of the forest of Kagan. I burst out of the trees, and kept running. I kept running for maybe another three miles (I didn't keep track I had subsitited terror for energy!). I kept going until I found another forest. I felt an air of peace in this forest. So I stopped running. Then I heard a dragon roar, so I started running again. I kept running, until BAM! Everything went black.
What?!What happend all I saw was a boy maybe my age running and then he got closer and darkness closed in on me.Oh no did I go blind?I hope not because I wann be able to stair at my beauty on my portable mirror. Oh! Sorry,i'm Breeya and if your wondering what I am doing all the way out in the woodst, well I have a story-ya shoulda guessed-and it's not pretty, unlike me of course, anyways my family was assasinated eight years ago. I was nine, and at that age I learned I had magic so I study from my fathers old spell book. Hey wait now I see light....
I woke up with probably the biggest headache of my life. Where was I? I sat up, (and saw a girl?) instead of [to see a girl] passed out in front of me. She looked about 16, the same age as me, and was bleeding at her head, so I tried to get up to go and help her. (I got up to quickly and felt) instead of [As I tried to get up, I quickly] felt dizzy; I fell back down. I put my hand to my head, and when I took it away, it had blood on it. I wasn't going to be conscious very long, and I didn't know where on the head I was damaged, because when I woke up, I had rubbed my head. So I got out some bandages I had in my bag, and crawled over to the girl, and wrapped the bandages around her head, trying to stop the flow of blood. I forced myself to stay awake awhile longer to make sure none of us had broken or seriously injured anything. The minutes that passed felt like centuries. Each second brought me agony, but I had to tend to both of us. Finally I couldn't stay awake any longer, and time seemed to slow down. A bird chirped nearby. It was barely audible. My eyes started closing, feeling like lead. When they closed, I couldn't tell if I was awake or not. I heard someone ask me very slowly, "Where am I?" Maybe the girl woke up! I thought. Then I saw a light, I had heard of this happening before, and I knew I wasn't supposed to go toward it. But it was so peaceful, so inviting, maybe it meant a chance for some rest........
Huh?I went into the light and all I see is the same idiot who knocked me unconsious, same forest, same bandage on my head-wait bandage that wasn't there before!I take the thing off and then put it back on when blood starts dripping down my forehead,I put my hand down ,and accidently put it on the guys head,i'm glad I did because it looks like he needs bandages too. I take the roll of bandages from his hand and fix him and he started to toss and make weird sounds,so I slap him to wake him up(and as a get back for making my head bleed)but let's not tell him I slaped him, then he sits up and says,"wha?Oww,hey I didn't put this on?" then I tell him,"yeah,I woke up and noticed you were bleeding so I put it in you,"
The light suddenly disappeared, followed by a brief pain in my face. But then the light appeared again, and it was getting closer! I hear birds singing, Where was I? I wasn't expecting an answer, but I got slapped in the face instead. "Wha?" I say aloud. I open my eyes and sit up, the girl is in front of me. I put my hand to me head, and there's bandages on it. "Huh," I wonder aloud, "I didn't put these bandages on," then added silently, "I think." I realized I had said it aloud when the girl answered, "Oh, yeah I noticed you were bleeding and put these bandages on you." After she said this I was thinking, "Showoff." I tried to stand up again, but fell down. Maybe I needed more rest...... When I woke up, the girl was asleep a few feet away. I needed to get to the nearest town as quick as possible, so I gathered some fresh fruit from some nearby trees to leave them by her so I could leave. I ran as silently as I could back to the clearing where she was resting. I set the fruit on the ground, grabbed my bag with the weapons in it, leaving her a staff, because she obviously knew how to fight, because otherwise she wouldn't be out here. I set off, at a pace I knew I could handle for a few hours. After maybe an hour, I found another clearing, and down to rest. I closed my eyes for a minute, and when I opened them, the girl was sitting on a rock right in front of me! How did she get there?! I didn't take a nap, at least I'm pretty sure I didn't. Anyway, as I sat there with an open mouth, she just seemed content munching away on a fruit. "So hey," she said casualy, "When are we gonna get going, and to where?"
Wow!I saw him stand up and fall,so he asks,"are you tired?"I answer,"yes, are you?"he answers casually,"yeah" So we take a nap,and when I wake up I see his staff,"So he thinks he can run from me huh?" and I concentrate on him and transporte ahead of him, with some fruit and the staff he left. "so,when are we gonna get going?" and then I take a bite from a piece of fruit, and mmm it was delightful! "hey, what is this?" I ask,"you don't know what a pear is?" He asks,"no" I answer confused,"anyways it's delicous!" I smiled at him,"Hey what's your name girl?" He asks,"Its Breeya, how about you?"
"It's Kellen, nice to meet you,Breeya"he said,"apperantly not" I say through bites off my pear,"you were just running from me" I say aggetated,"Oh let me explain,I'm running from someone el-"I inturrupted him,"who?" His face was blank now,"No,one sorry to bother you but I must go"
The girl named Breeya(or is it Breya, I really don't know) was persistent. I kept trying to leave, but she would always pop right back I front of me. (NO Breya/Breeya, I did not forget how to pronounce your name, I just, couldn't remember it at the moment.) By now I figured out she could use magic, so I tried to outsmart her. I kept doing it until she cast illusions around me in a circle. Illusions are the first spell the average magician learns, because it is neccesary a lot. So she was constantly casting it again and again, so I waited until I saw a Breya/Breeya flicker, then charged right through the illusion! Take that, Breya! I'm just going to spell it Breya now. As soon as I was out of the clearing and in the forest, I used something I taught myself. I jumped into a tree branch, and soon I was hopping from branch to branch like a squirrel. The best part was, I didn't have to slow down! Until the trees ended and it turned into town. I unable to slow myself down, I hit a wall. I quickly pulled out a dagger, and jammed it into the wall as hard as I could. The dagger fit perfectly! But I had put it into a hole, so the dagger hit the wall at the back of the hole and bounced of. I could only think one thing at the time. Oh crap!! I fell, but it didn't hurt that much, because I landed on someone. "Thank you for saving me from injury, and sorry for falling on you," I apoligized to the groaning person under me, as I soon as I got up, I started to run to find the nearest inn, then the person I fell on tripped me. "Why where you on a building?" he inquired. I replied, "I was running away from a girl named Bre-" I stopped my sentence and got up. There was Breya in town, "Gotta go!" I shouted back to the boy. As soon as I turned around, BAM! I hit someone, and fell down. The person that I hit was still standing for some reason, and unlike when I hit Breya, no one was bleeding. I like up at her, she looked to be about 15, had bright green eyes, and white-blonde hair that was blinding in the sunlight. I got up, and she started pounding me with questions like: " Who are you?" "Why where you running?" and what is your problem, running into me like that?" theese were only half the questions that she asked. (A relief was I could only remember half of them) "My name is Kelen, I'm running from someone, and why aren't you knocked down?" "Because I'm a magic user, I control air," she answered proudly, "But it took 7 horribly long years to master it," she muttered under her breath. "Oh yeah, my name is Peri," she said a bit more cheerfully, "So, where are you-" "Kelen! I found you!" Peri was cut off midsentence, by Breya. "Kelen! Why are you running from me?" demanded Breya. "I-" that was all I could get out before the person I landed on caught up with me. "Hey, your name is Kelen? I've been looking all over for you! My name is Tarturus!" "Excuse me, you can't just interrupt like that. It's rude!" Retorted Peri, who was annoyed. "Yeah yeah, so Kelen are you going to answer my question?" stated Breya, ignoring Peri. "Kelen I am Tarturus. I was in service whith your father when-" "Hey Kelen! Are you gonna tell this white-blonde haired chick to shut up?!" "Don't tell me to shut up! Breya, what kind of name is that!" "Hey! Kelen, can I please have a word with you?" "Hey Tarter! Shut up!" Well then the rest of the words were jumbled together because of Peri, Breya, and Tarturus' yelling. So I just walked away quietly, as to not attract any attention. Time to hit the road.
"Hey Tartur shut up,and well then what kind of name is Peri?"I yelled and at the same time Peri stated,"I'm just wondering why he ran into me"she pointed at Kelen,"and you came along and interrupted me!"and Tartur exclaimed,"No! I just need to speek to the Prince!" I could feel Kelen staring at us ,and processed everything they both just said, and Turned to ask Tartur what he meant by "Prince" when I noticed him and Kelen running out of town!I started heading toward them and the Peri girl had the nerve to come with me!She started asking questions like,"Do you have any siblings?" "Was one of those guys a brother of yours?" "Do you like one of thos guys?" so I answer very aggetated,"no my siblings are no more, and I don't know either of them well enough!"Now she seemed upset I said that like I said the wrong thing,so she asked,"sooo....why are you following them?" That was a good question. Why was I following them?I decided not to answer and run towards the place I saw them run out at.Hopefully that got rid of her. When I got to the spot I saw them about to enter the woods of Kapaan, and I heard fast foot movement behind me and run faster towards them. Once more.I start to feel light headed as soon as I reach two yards away, and feel the browning grass, and soft leaves on my knees. Kelen and Tartur notice and run over. Then I feel not two but three sets of hands helping me. Great she followed.
It had been maybe two hours after I walked away from the group argument. I ran as fast as I could, but as I expected, they caught up. "God! These people are relentless!" I swore under my breath, and immediately tried to run faster, I succeeded for about five minutes trying to escape once more. "Your majesty! I need to speak with you!" There was the guy who knew who I was. There was also a sudden thump, and from my experience of the past few hours, I assumed it to be Breya. I backtracked my steps, and found Breya passed out on the ground. Tarter boy soon caught up, and Peri. We all picked her up and gathered some leaves to make a bed for her. I having studied medical arts, tried to find out what was wrong. Then Peri just went ahead and pointed out, "She has a fever." "How would you know that?" I questioned, crossing my arms. "Her head is burning up, and she is shivering intensely," she said matter-of-factly. "Oh," I said dumbly, as much as I'd hate to admit it, that just meant that five years of medical training had gone to waste. I pulled out a cloth from my bag, and went off to find a river. Tarter boy followed me. I heard the sound of running water, and followed it to a small stream. I quickly soaked the cloth in the river, and wrung it out. I ran back to camp, because I sure as heck needed to get away from these people. As I was walking back, I heard a sudden growl,I looked around, but saw nothing. Then a bear charged into me, breaking a rib. Tarter-somethin' pulled out a big sword, and quickly Waved it in front of the bear, and stabbed at it. He missed, and the bear ran off. I was going to ask why he didn't hit it, because he held that sword like it weighed nothing, and that meant he could use it pretty well, at least to me. I opened my mouth and tried to sit up, but cried out in pain. He probably knew what I was thinking, because he helped me up, and showed me to a cave nearby, with bear cubs in it. Then, he picked up the cloth, and we made our way back to the campsite. When we got back, he gave the cloth to Peri, so she could tend to Breya. He then tended to me, wrapping my chest in bandages, and then laid out a bed for me. He proceeded to get food and water for all of us. It wasn't much, but it was enough. Later that night, when the girls were asleep, I asked him why he was looking for me. He replied, "I was a soldier working for your father, and he tried to kill me when he grew paranoid that people were trying to take his throne. I came to warn you of the danger." "Thanks for the warning, but I kinda figured that out when he tried to kill me," I retorted. "Oh, well I came to warn you just in case," he said, almost sounding disappointed. I think maybe he wanted somewhere to go, so I invited him to come along. He immediately lit up, said goodnight, and fell asleep. I figured I needed some sleep as well, so I closed my eyes. And so ended, Day Two.
