    Story

The year is 2020, after the failed UN resolution for the demilitarization of all countries, many nations have begun to pull out. Many resolutions have been dissolved. The only treaties and agreement that remain in place is the ones made without the intervention of the UN. (The Geneva convention is mutual agreed to stay in place.)

The world is now preparing to rearm themselves. Either to conquer the world or defend from foreign powers. In doing this, long time allies have broken their defense agreement out of paranoia.

(Note, Nato doesn't exist anymore. The EU is on it's last legs.)

The game will begin after three countries have given an acceptance speech for becoming the next leader of the country (Of your choosing.) and a history of how you came to power. In this speech, you can outline your goals, how your foreign policy will be and your starting bonus. After that, you must tackle the world as a leader. Will you be a peaceful ruler? Or tyrant? Only you know.

Examples of starting bonus: (Must be specific.)

Naval - Best destroyers, Carriers, ETC.
Army - Special forces, Tanks, Infantry, engineers, snipers, ETC.
Air force - Fighters, bombers, ETC>
Scientific/Cultural/Any addition that would benefit your country.

    Countries you cannot pick

Brazil, N/S Korea, Cuba, Russia, China, Switzerland, Australia, the Middle East, Ukraine, India, Iran, Israel.

    Random events

Weather, NPC countries, terrorist organizations can and will do anything. They are controlled by the GM.

    Game actions

    Alliances -

Only four players? No alliances. Six? Two man alliances. Over nine? Three+

    Post count -

Must be in the format provided.

Let three countries post the format BEFORE you post again.

The GM's posts and questions/talking DO NOT count for building/research.

If you forgot to add that you were building something or doing something in your main post, too bad!

    War -

    During war, you can't build/research

Population - Don't have a twelve million man army and you only have nine million (You have to balance your civilian/military forces)

All IRL treaties apply unless broken off in the game.
A designated Warmaster(WM) can war for the GM.

You can only have seven bases. You can choose what they are and where they are at in your home country.

    Three naval bases? Three fleets.

    Fleets:

Carrier fleet(two carriers, five destroyers two troop ships)
Battleship fleet(two battleships, two cruisers, four destroyers)
    Submarine fleet(Missile sub, scout sub)

Three airfields? Three fighter(or drone) wings.

    Squadron of fighters(12-24 planes)
    Drone squadron(12/24)
    Stealth squadron(6-9)

    Three forts? Three armies.

    Army one (Tank/artillery/SF )
    Army two (etc)
    Army three(Etc)

    Be descriptive -

Be very descriptive. Don't be so generalized.

    "Missile defense system built"

It's built, yes? Not installed anywhere.

Trained troops? Yeah. Where are they staying at?

What factories is making your war products?

Remember, you can damage another country without military action.

    War Mode:

In order to attack someone, you must declare a war mode with that country. In war mode, it is like a 1v1. You must wait for your enemy to reply. You get the chance to deflect 2 attacks every 1 page. it does not stack. (You must come up with a sound reason for why the hit does not land.)

You get three attacks on your opponent and you get to deflect two of them. So, it's a pick your poison kind of thing.

    (One passive, 2 offensive)

We are using modern technology. (With a tad of our own creativity)

    Example:

    Poland VS Germany

    Germany:

20 Panzer tanks roll across the polish border. (Passive)
Air strikes are launched from the city of Lublin.
1k troops march into the polish/German border

    Poland:

Landmines in the area go off, blowing up 7 of the tanks(Passive defensive)
Missile defense system deflects the barrage of missiles(Defensive)
The troops, although meeting medium resistance, push through(Poison picked)

The one thing you need to do is be so descriptive that I can't invalid anything you do.

Keep a running count of EVERYTHING you train/build/research.

Example, Ireland is a good bit away from the USA. You have to sail your navy to either one to land troops. You can have troops in subs, but, not 10k. More of 50 - 100 men.

  2. Countries already picked:

    Canada - AshesOfEden

    Players/Countries in -

USA - Khajiit - Bonus: increased army and air force strength.
Japan - Rugger - Bonus: Naval bonus.

  3. I'm definitely going to play! I just need to do some research before selecting a country :D

  4. Begins tomorrow

  5. In 2014, Saudi Arabia was a total monarchy riddled with terrorism, corruption, sexism, and people with a deploration of their government. Sitting on the world's largest oil fields, Saudi Arabia had potential to become the world's wealthiest nation, but decades of backwards thinking had starved it of its economic potential.

In 2017, after the government continued in its failure to liberalize the economy and bring democracy, the people joined together in a revolution. The armies turned on the people, and since the people were in the army, the armies turned on one another. After 6 months of fighting and bloodshed, the people reigned victorious, or so it seemed. The general of the people's army had quietly gained power. The promised elections for a new leader in 2018 were cancelled, and instead, the general declared that he was chosen by god to lead his people.

To prevent outside intervention of his rule, the general/dictator, or "Supreme Leader Shadid" as he called himself, demilitarised his country. The country itself was renamed "The People's Republic of Arabia", or just "Arabia". Most of his soldiers were converted into police officers, but served the same purpose: defeating Islamist extremists in Saudi Arabia and detaining those who opposed Shadid. Owners of large companies in Arabia had their assets liquidated and companies taken by Great Leader Shadid for the greater good. He did not want powerful businessmen in his country to challenge him politically. The oil production was increased (and oil prices too) for markets in North America, China, Australia, India, and Europe.

Government reforms were put into place as well. Women were given full rights, non-Muslims became equals with Muslims, education to students was subsidized if the student showed excellence. Military research expenditure was expanded upon. Health care became universal.

Shadid put great focus on creating good relations with neighbouring countries to secure trade routes. While creating good relations with neighbouring countries, it also laid plans to revolutionise Islamic thinking through conquest within the next few decades.

The UN demilitarisation aided Arabia with this plan. Firstly, Arabia had to look to completely secure it's own trade routes. One way in which it planned to do this would be to invade Oman and get a trade route into the Indian Ocean that would be hard to blockade. In 2019, It secretly created an anti-Oman propaganda campaign within its own borders and to neighbouring nations to cause tensions between them and Oman, possibly creating an excuse for Arabia to invade.

Bonus: has tons of oil (oil prices would rise exponentially if a sanction were to be placed)

Type of government: Total dictatorship (municipal elections allowed)

Goals: to liberalise Islam, unify the Islamic world (creating an Islamic superpower), and create a military presence large enough to defend its trade routes and it's territory against attacks.

  6. Jeez talk about starting with a bang.

    2017 New Zealand

By this time New Zealand has kept it's steady financial gain, becoming an even more prominent country in the Western world despite its small size. A ban on everything nuclear is still in place, much toZealand's annoyance of the nuclear loving Americans, for the nuclear ban means that not even ships powered by nuclear energy are allowed in the waters surrounding the country.

There hasn't been much development in the way of the military, with the navy and air force actually decreasing in size along with the army itself. Although in recent years military bases have been constructed in remote areas, along with missile defense systems, and anti air defenses.

2019 a new prime minister was elected with the same old promises, improved economy, better education system, more jobs, and has so far spent time strengthening ties with their western allies. There has been talks of relaxing the nuclear ban.

New Zealand's new prime minister aims to solidify alliances, as it is far too small a country to be able to do much in the way of showing military prowess.

Bonus: High defensive capabilities, attacking troops have to travel along particular roads in areas of the country as dense bush covers large portions, supplies for troops would be scarce, and supply lines would be relatively difficult to maintain given New Zealand's vast distance from other countries.

  7. In 2014, Japan a world superpower that has arguably the best economy, has two major problems! One its small area and over population and two it's demilitarization which turned almost all military into police or coast guard. The people are only mad at the over population since its way over crowded and the only thing the emperor has to do about it is say don't have families! The people are mad they want to uprise but no one knows who will lead. but one ex-US Army Ranger that was fed up with American policies but adored Japan's so he defected to Japan. but he too hates overpopulation and heard about this uprising and decided to lead it. In 2016 he was able to train 4 people to be generals 30 to be drill sargents 2 to be Admirals, 5000 people to be an initial army and 400 to be an initial navy, and 150 to be mech infantry (tanks, cars etc). His plan was brilliant have 100 of his army including him go into the Capitol building have a large bomb blow up 20 yards away from the Capitol building. This will get sercurity to be off guard for seconds momentarily while more guards come. We the initial force seize the building and the emperor.

  8. Awesome job guys! Need one more country and we can start.. The rest can catch up

  9. Then 10 of our mech infantry protects the outside of the building. And our navy block the nearest waterways and then force our uprising into power the plan worked it took 2 months to get us into power and during this the old government tried to get people against us by executing civilians. But it worked against them and the people rose to help us and the police in those 2 months killed 528,279 people which failing made the government cave into our demands. The new emperor Emperor Li (parents were Asian decent but lives in America) rewarded his generals and admirals who were executed in 2017 when Li became a benevolent dictator. He then started to secretly building one of the worlds largest army but an even bigger and better navy. He then did the kid occupation act which sent kids into an job school early on. He then sent 35% of the kids into a military academy to enlarge his military. He did this so his people would be protected and he most likely would be attacked. He then had most of his scientist look into military science and on the go food that would strengthened his military in combat and give them more energy.

  10. The year is 2015 and a rather expansive diamond mine is found at the border between Chad and Nigeria.

In rush for the diamonds, Chad has trodden on the toes of Nigeria and risks a war between the two countries.

By the year 2017 Chad has exhausted the diamonds in the mine between its neighbour and has thus caused farther tensions between the two countries; however the economy in Chad has boomed like never before.
Fearing the worst, president Ideiss Déby invested a large amount of Chad's money on improving the technological power of the Chadian army and has invested in a number of nuclear missile facilities under the ruse of nuclear power plants.

However when in later 2017, Idriss Déby suffers from cardiac arrest, there is a scramble for power in Chad.
In the end, a group of vigilantes ran by an order of academics with no place in the militarised Chad rise to the top in one of the largest coups in Chadian history.
They place their highest person in power, a young man whom researched nuclear physics and medicinal sciences.

Facing pressures from the UN to demilitarise, he has spent most of Chad's remaining wealth into improving health care but at the cost of it private and high tax.
He has also worked on converting the nuclear missile facilities into real nuclear power plants and exporting energy to countries like Nigeria to calm the tensions between the two.

    Bonus
    Fastest scientific and technological advancements.

  11. Bonus: naval to protect our borders and to lead the way in a war for our troops
Goal: Expand our borders to give more room for our people

  12. 2016 - on the back of the latest elections the latest president to be elected in had made some controversial policies that the people had backed wholeheartedly. These included strengthening their military even more than it had before, increasing sentences and bringing capital punishment back into the states that had abolished it.
This was introduced with the order to withdraw all troops from all wars fought on foreign soil in agreement with the new foreign policy.

2018 - after several riots had broken out just to be crushed just as violently by the now militarized police force, the people are on the edge about their new leader. On one hand he had reduced crime rates substantially and increased the money going into the peoples pockets. On the other the country was turning into a police state. The president soon released the latest collection of laws that would increase the presidential powers while limiting the effect that the people would be able to have on the government.

2019 - widespread rioting has occured which the police force has been doing It's best to quell, but now that the spark for an uprising against a now oppressive government has been provided they are having a difficult time controlling the extent of the riots. If not dealt with correctly the country is in danger of falling apart.

2020 - after an agreement had been made with the people for the government to not take away any more of their rights under the guise of safety the presidents focus is now on the failed UN agreement for everyone to disarm, along with how to keep himself in power come the next presidential elections.
Dispite the troubles of the past few years the military has been ever growing without a war to fight on foreign soil.

Starting bonus - increased military and air force strength thanks to the funding that has been funneled into research and military vehicles and personnel.

  13. Starting countries -

USA - Khajiit - Bonus: increased army and air force strength.
Japan - Rugger - Bonus: Naval bonus.
New Zealand - Dark Tiger - Bonus: High defensive capabilities.
Saudi Arabia - Devil - Bonus: Tons of oil.
Chad - InterroBang - Bonus: Fast Scientific and technological advancements.

The United nations has lost a lot of member nations and has been reduced to an advisory board. All resolutions have been dissolved. Only the Geneva convention still applies. (Note, Nato, EU does not exist anymore.) This broadcast message has sent the world into panic mode. Riots have broken out into one of your major cities and North Korea amasses on the border they share with South Korea.

Hurricane Floyd is wrecking havoc in the Florida keys.

  14. The military has been sent in to help the police supress the riots now taking place in Washington, due to the past experiences with quelling riots, this issue should be dealt with quickly and effectively.

As the hurricane rages on in Florida the president has made a promise of aid to be supplied to the area once the hurricane runs It's course, temperary shelter will be set up for those displaced by the storm and structural damage wil be taken care of in due time.

As for the tension in korea, due to the forign policy change the USA will not be intervening in the area.

  15. NOTE

You MUST build up your armed forces.

Example. "100 tanks have gone into production"

Currently... YOU HAVE NO MILITARY WHAT SO EVER.

    Update -

You cannot edit your posts what so ever. Only the GM can edit his.

    Update -

USA starts with salvaged military equipment/ships and 1K personal each. (Only because of the investments in starting post)

  16. Due to the radical regime change and the support from the people the riots were small and caused no damage to anything and were easily suppressed and ridden and there were only two detainees released a day later and Japan releases a statement saying it fulling supports SKorea and if NKorea attacks any further there will huge consequences and starts to mobilize troops, navy and Air Force

  17. A stronger police presence cordoning off the riots quells them rather quickly, minimum infrastructure damage was sustained during the relatively small riot. No arrests were made as the riot was not very dramatic, the general calm demeanour of the city returning shortly after it ended.

An influx of new recruits enters the army, spurred on by the recent happenings in North Korea. Overall 150 people begin training as marines. Construction begins on a dozen coastal SAM silo's along the west coast, creating an influx of jobs for the coastal cities.

  18. Due to recent recruitment 10,000 troops have begun training for the regular army.

5 troop ships have also begun construction.

  19. The North Korean leader has released a response to this. He states

    *Throws the gauntlet*

    GAME UPDATE -

WHATEVER YOU TRAIN - It takes three posts AFTER YOUR POST. EXCLUDING THE GM.
